THE TITLE COMPOUND [SYSTEMATIC NAME: (1α,3α,6α,8β,13β,14α,16β)-20-ethyl-8-eth-oxy-3,13-dihy-droxy-1,6,16-trimeth-oxy-4-(meth-oxy-meth-yl)aconitan-14-yl 4-meth-oxy-benzoate], C(35)H(51)NO(10), was isolated from roots of Aconitum carmichaeli Debx., which is a typical C(19)-diterpenoid alkaloid. The mol-ecule has an aconitane carbon skeleton with four six-membered rings and two five-membered rings.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of computer-assisted surgery can improve the clinical results in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) compared with conventional methods of TKA.A literature search of PubMed (1966 to August 2011), CENTRAL (Cochrane Controlled Trials Register; issue 3, 2011), and EMBASE (1984 to August 2011) was conducted. This study aims to improve the tensile strength and elastic modulus of nano-apatite/poly(ε-caprolactone) composites by silane-modification of the nano-apatite fillers. Three silane coupling agents were used to modify the surfaces of nano-apatite particles and composites of silanized apatite and PCL were prepared by a technique incorporating solvent dispersion, melting-blend and hot-pressing. The results showed that the silane coupling agents successfully modified the surfaces of nano-apatite fillers, and the crystallization temperatures of the silanized apatite/PCL composites were the higher than that of the non-silanized control material, although the melting temperature of the composites remained almost unaffected by silanization.

5,6β-dihy-droxy-1α,14α,16β-trimeth-oxy-4-methyl-7β,8-methyl-enedi-oxy-20-ethyl-aconitan-6-yl acetate acetone monosolvate), C(27)H(41)NO(8)·C(3)H(6)O, was isolated from Delphinium bonvalotii Franch, and is a typical C(19)-diterpenoid alkaloid. The mol-ecule has a lycoctonine carbon skeleton with four six-membered rings and three five-membered rings. Three six-membered rings adopt the chair conformations while the fourth adopts a boat conformation, while the five-membered rings have the envelope conformations.

The effects of cetyltrimethylammonium (CTAB), sodiumdodecylsulfate (SDS) and pol(oxyethylene)(9.5)p-(1,1,3,3-tetramethyl; Triton X-100) on the dissociation constants, transition points and transition intervals of thymol blue and bromothymol blue were studied. The experimental results indicated that surfactant micelles remarkably affected dissociation constants, transition points and transition intervals of the acid-base indicators, and the application ranges of acid-base indicators became wider and the titration accuracy increased when an appropriate surfactant micellar solution was chosen as a titration medium.

Analysed by TLC and spectrometry, the content of the total saponin in three wild species of Gynostemma on Mount Emei is found to be the highest in July and to be the lowest in the seedling stage. Among the three, the content of the total saponin in Gynostemma pentaphyllum is the highest, that in Gynostemma pubescens lower and that in Gynostemma longipes the lowest.
