Background: Protein kinase D 3 (PRKD3), a serine/threonine protein kinase, functions as a crucial regulator across numerous cancer types. However, its regulatory function and mechanism in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) proliferation remain unclear. experiments and proteomics analysis offer new insights into the regulation and mechanism of PRKD3 in HCC.

Pancreatic cancer (PC) has poor prognosis. PRKAA1 (AMPK-α1) is the catalytic subunit of 5'-adenylate-activated protein kinase (AMPK), which plays a critical role in multiple stages of tumorigenesis and development. However, the biological mechanisms of PRKAA1 in the tumor microenvironment have not been well studied.

We accessed publicly available genome-wide association studies' (GWAS) summary statistics for dietary habits and APOs, respectively. We used five MR methods to synthesize MR estimates across genetic instruments.

Cancer stands as a leading global cause of death, with its etiology characterized by complexity and multifaceted factors. Growing research indicates a strong correlation between environmental factors and cancer incidence, underscoring the critical importance of intervening in environmental risk factors to mitigate cancer occurrence. Despite this, specialized research institutions focusing on the intersection of environment and cancer remain scarce, with global investment in cancer prevention significantly trailing behind efforts in diagnosis and treatment.

The aim of this study was to observe the effects of different conditioning regimens on fine immune indices after microtransplantation (MST) in patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML). This article discusses the possible immune mechanism of microtransplantation and describes a more optimized conditioning regimen. A total of 55 AML patients who received MST treatment at the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University from August 2015 to October 2023 were included in this study, and 13 AML patients who did not receive MST but directly received the maintenance therapy were included as the control group (C).

NP tissue samples with different Pfirrmann grades were collected from patients with different degrees of IVDD. Western blot and immunohistochemical staining were used to compare the expression of POSTN protein in NP tissues.

However, treating these wounds is difficult owing to uncontrolled inflammatory microenvironments and defective angiogenesis in the affected areas, with no established effective treatment to the best of our knowledge. Herein, we optimized a dual functional therapeutic agent based on the assembly of LL-37 peptides and diblock copolymer poly(ethylene glycol)-poly(propylene sulfide) (PEG-PPS).

Objective: We aimed to investigate the significance of autophagy proteins and their association with clinical data on pregnancy loss in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), while also constructing predictive models.
Methods: This study was a secondary analysis. we collected endometrial samples from 33 patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and 7 patients with successful pregnancy control women at the Reproductive Center of the Second Hospital of Lanzhou University between September 2019 and September 2020.
Acute thrombus formation on the delivery sheath is rare condition during percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion. We presented two cases that transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) showed a floating thrombus attached to the tip of delivery sheath during the procedure. Cerebral embolic protection devices were used to prevent neurological events after thrombus was detected.

Microbiota modulates critical aspects of tumor biology including cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis. This regulation occurs through mechanisms like enhancing genomic damage, hindering gene repair, activating aberrant cell signaling pathways, influencing tumor cell metabolism, promoting revascularization, and remodeling the tumor immune microenvironment.

Due to its complicated etiologies, the treatments for RM also vary greatly, including surgery for anatomic factors such as septate uterus and uterine adhesions, thyroid modulation drugs for hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism, and aspirin and low molecular weight heparin for antiphospholipid syndrome. However, these treatment modalities are still insufficient to solve RM.

The accurate assessment of lymph node metastasis (LNM) in patients with early gastric cancer is critical to the selection of the most appropriate surgical treatment. This study aims to develop an optimal LNM prediction model using different methods, including nomogram, Decision Tree, Naive Bayes, and deep learning methods. In this study, we included two independent datasets: the gastrectomy set (n=3158) and the endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) set (n=323).

Low back pain (LBP) caused by intervertebral disc (IVD) generation (IVDD) has always been an important problem that cannot be ignored. Traditional therapies have many deep-rooted and intractable complications that promote their treatment mode transfer to new therapies. This article mainly summarizes the shortcomings of traditional treatment methods and analyzes the research status and future development direction of IVDD treatment.

Background: Accurate risk stratification of patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) could help refine adjuvant therapy selection and better understand the clinical course. We aimed to evaluate the value of radiomics features from hematomal and perihematomal edema areas for prognosis prediction and to develop a model combining clinical and radiomic features for accurate outcome prediction of patients with ICH.
Methods: This multicenter study enrolled patients with ICH from January 2016 to November 2021.

Engineering smart nano-therapeutics for re-epithelialisation of chronic wounds facilitates the wound healing process. However, due to excessive oxidative stress damage and persistent inflammation in diabetic wound microenvironment, the migration of stimulating epidermal cells in diabetic wounds represents a significant challenge. Here we synthesised P311-loaded micelles by self-assembly of P311 peptides and diblock copolymer poly (ethylene glycol)-block-poly (propylene sulfide) (PEG-b-PPS, denoted as PEPS) that have unique ability to transform an oxidative wound microenvironment into a proregenerative one while also providing cues for epidermal cell migration.

The non-specific distribution, non-selectivity towards cancerous cells, and adverse off-target side effects of anticancer drugs and other therapeutic molecules lead to their inferior clinical efficacy. Accordingly, ultrasound-based targeted delivery of therapeutic molecules loaded in smart nanocarriers is currently gaining wider acceptance for the treatment and management of cancer. Nanobubbles (NBs) are nanosize carriers, which are currently used as effective drug/gene delivery systems because they can deliver drugs/genes selectively to target sites.

Carrying out the syntheses of drugs toxic to tumors based on the specific features of the tumor microenvironment is critical for ensuring specific antitumor efficacy. However, achieving high-yield synthetic toxic drugs from non-toxic agents and reducing their drug resistance in hypoxic tumors remain challenges. Herein we created a tumor-microenvironment-responsive porous Pt/Pt(iv) methylene blue coordination polymer nanoshuttle (Pt/PtMBCPNS) photosensitizer with spatiotemporally controlled O and singlet oxygen (O) self-sufficient for the high-yield synthesis of drugs and efficient hypoxic tumor therapy.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is a rare soft-tissue malignant tumor with high lung metastasis and mortality rates. Preoperative chemotherapy, surgical resection of the lesion and postoperative chemotherapy are still the main treatments for osteosarcoma. The prognosis, however, is poor for patients with nonresectable, primary metastatic or relapsed disease.
