The formation of gastric precancerous-lesions (GPLs) has been identified as a critical step in tumorigenesis, and patients with GPLs have an increased risk of gastric cancer. Magnolol is the primary biphenolic compound in Magnolia officinalis. It possesses various pharmacological properties, such as cardioprotective and neuroprotective properties, and inhibit tumor growth.

It is widely known that homocysteine (Hcy) is associated with the pathogenesis of many clinical diseases, and its quantitative detection can help early treatment of related diseases. The selection of materials with excellent properties is important for the construction of electrochemical sensing platforms and quantitative detection of Hcy. In this study, two nanocomposites, Au nanoparticles/hollow carbon spheres (AuNPs@HCS) and Au nanoparticles/solid carbon spheres (AuNPs@SCS), were prepared first.

We report a case of patient with Stage IIIa Hepatocellular Carcinoma Complicated by Early Gastric Cancer. Although Stage IIIa liver cancer can be treated with surgery, the overall prognosis of surgery is not ideal. Alternatively, conversion therapy is reported with different effectiveness towards stage IIIa liver cancer.

Liver cancer is associated with a few factors, such as viruses and alcohol consumption, and hepatectomy is an important treatment for patients with liver cancer. However, post-hepatectomy liver failure (PHLF) is the most serious complication and has a high mortality rate. Effective prediction of PHLF allows for the adjustment of clinical treatment strategies and is critical to the long-term prognosis of patients.

Objective: To explore the clinical characteristics of the current diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for renal tuberculosis.
Methods: Clinical diagnosis and treatment data from 765 patients definitively diagnosed with renal tuberculosis between January 2013 and December 2022 were retrospectively analyzed to identify optimal diagnostic and treatment modalities guiding clinical practice.
Results: The number of patients with clinically atypical renal tuberculosis has fluctuated in the last decade, but the changes are not statistically different.

To investigate the predictors of persistent prostate-specific antigen (PSA) after radical prostatectomy (RP). From January 2019 to December 2022, 212 patients with prostate cancer who underwent RP were retrospectively analyzed. According to the PSA value at 4-8 weeks postoperatively, the patients were divided into the PSA <0.

Purpose: We aim to determine the effectiveness of adding electroacupuncture to standard triple antiemetic therapy for treating chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV).
Methods: From March 2022 to December 2023, a randomized, blind, sham-controlled trial conducted across six Chinese hospitals investigated patients with breast cancer undergoing highly emetogenic chemotherapy (HEC). Patients were randomly assigned to either true electroacupuncture (n = 120) or sham electroacupuncture (n = 119) groups, with both groups receiving standard triple antiemetic therapy.

Background: The aim of this study was to assess the microbial variations and biomarkers in the vaginal and oral environments of patients with human papillomavirus (HPV) and cervical cancer (CC) and to develop novel prediction models.
Materials And Methods: This study included 164 samples collected from both the vaginal tract and oral subgingival plaque of 82 women. The participants were divided into four distinct groups based on their vaginal and oral samples: the control group (Z/KZ, n = 22), abortion group (AB/KAB, n = 17), HPV-infected group (HP/KHP, n = 21), and cervical cancer group (CC/KCC, n = 22).

Background: The prognostic value of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) is known to be affected by elevated bilirubin levels in patients with gallbladder carcinoma (GBC). The clinical significance of changes in the ratio of CA19-9 levels to total bilirubin (TB) levels in patients with GBC after curative-intent resection remains unknown. The aim of this study was to determine the prognostic value of changes in preoperative and postoperative CA19-9/TB ratio in these patients.

Defects in mitochondrial RNA metabolism have been linked to sensorineural deafness that often occurs as a consequence of damaged or deficient inner ear hair cells. In this report, we investigated the molecular mechanism underlying a deafness-associated tRNA 593T > C mutation that changed a highly conserved uracil to cytosine at position 17 of the DHU-loop. The development of efficacious bone substitute biomaterials remains a major challenge for research and clinical surgical. Herein, we constructed triple helix recombinant collagen (THRC) -based hydrogels loading bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP-2) to stimulate bone regeneration in cranial defects. A series of in situ forming hydrogels, denoted as THRC-oxidized carboxymethylcellulose (OCMC)-N-succinyl-chitosan (NSC) hydrogels, was synthesized via a Schiff base reaction involving OCMC, THRC and NSC.

The transjugular or transfemoral approach is used as a common method for hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG) measurement in current practice. This study aims to confirm the safety and effectiveness of measuring HVPG via the forearm venous approach. Prospective recruitment was conducted for patients with cirrhosis who underwent HVPG measurement via the forearm venous approach at six hospitals in China and Japan from September 2020 to December 2020.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the value of histogram analysis based on iodine-based material decomposition (IMD) images obtained through dual-energy computed tomography (DECT) to differentiate gastric schwannoma (GS) from gastric stromal tumor (GST) (≤5 cm) preoperatively.
Methods: From January 2015 to January 2023, 15 patients with GS and 30 patients with GST (≤5 cm) who underwent biphasic contrast-enhanced scans using DECT were enrolled in this study. For each tumor, we reconstructed IMD images at the arterial phase (AP) and venous phase (VP).

Aim: To explore whether small airway disease and emphysema were affected by the interaction between smoking and aging on chest computed tomography (CT) images of asymptomatic healthy men analysed using a quantitative imaging tool parametric response mapping (PRM).
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, 95 asymptomatic healthy men underwent biphasic chest CT. The PRM classifies lung as a percentage of normal (PRM%), functional small airway disease (PRM%), and emphysema (PRM%).
