Electronic address:

Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP) is an idiopathic disease that occurs during mid-to-late pregnancy and is associated with various adverse pregnancy outcomes, including intrauterine fetal demise. However, since the underlying cause of ICP remains unclear, there is an ongoing debate on the phenotyping criteria used in the diagnostic process. Here, we identified single- and multi-symptomatic ICP (ICP-S and ICP-M) in 104,221 Chinese females from the ZEBRA maternity cohort, with the objective of exploring the risk implications of the two phenotypes on pregnancy outcomes and from environmental exposures.

Article Synopsis
  • - This study focused on understanding factors that influence fever and the duration of fever in young children with bacterial meningitis (BM), involving data from 49 centers in China over a span of more than two years.
  • - A total of 863 patients under three years old were analyzed, revealing that certain infections like coagulase negative staphylococcus led to less fever, while conditions such as septicaemia and ear-nose-throat infections were linked to higher fever rates.
  • - The research identified specific factors associated with delayed fever resolution, including infections like Streptococcus agalactiae, gastrointestinal infections, and complications such as encephalomalacia and subdural effusion, which could help in diagnosing and monitoring the severity of the

Objectives: Standard base excess (SBE) is a quick and effective tool to identify acid-base disorders in critically ill patients, independent of respiratory factors. The predictive value of SBE for adverse outcomes in patients with heat stroke (HS) is still unclear. This study aimed to explore the prognostic significance of SBE for in-hospital mortality and other adverse outcomes in patients with HS.

Diagnosis of breast cancer lesion using ultrasound images, elastography, and Ki-67 protein cell proliferation index.

Cell Mol Biol (Noisy-le-grand)

April 2023

Department of Ultrasound in Medicine, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Lanxi Branch (Lanxi People's Hospital),1359 Xishan Road, Lanxi, Zhejiang, China, 321100.

Today, using elastography and ultrasound images is the best method for diagnosing breast cancer for dense tissues, especially for women under 30 years old, which is used to detect the exact border of masses. Besides, using quantitative microscopic criteria that are less tasteful seems to be useful in predicting the behavior of the tumor and its prognosis. Ki-67 is an antigen corresponding to a nuclear non-histone protein produced by cells in proliferative phases.

Rationale: Pneumonic-type lung cancer (PTLC) is a special type of lung cancer with cough and expectoration as the main clinical symptoms and inflammatory signals as the main imaging manifestations. PTLC can be easily misdiagnosed as pneumonia, and the diagnosis and treatment are always delayed. Metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS), as an emerging and effective method to identify occult pathogens, has been gradually adopted by clinicians.
