Since the outbreak of COVID-19 few years ago, the increasing of the number of medical waste has become a huge issue because of their harmful impact to environment. A major concern associated to the limitation of technologies for dealing with medical waste, especially conventional technologies, are overcapacities since pandemic occurs. Moreover, the outbreak of new viruses from post COVID-19 should become a serious attention to be prevented not only environmental issues but also the spreading of viruses to new pandemic near the future.

Diabetic wound is one of the main challenges in dermatology. Although stem cell-based treatment has therapeutic benefits in wound repair, the clinical application is still limited. Herein we investigated whether adipose stem cells -derived exosomes (Exo) loaded on hyaluronic acid (HA) could promote healing in diabetic rats.

Introduction: Hypoxia fuels cancer growth by supporting blood vessel formation, suppressing immune response, and helping cancer cells adapt to harsh surroundings. This happens when cancer cells react to low oxygen levels by activating hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α). High levels of HIF-1α can indicate an aggressive form of cancer and resistance to treatment in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) patients.

Ovarian cancer poses significant challenges and remains a highly lethal disease with limited treatment options. In the context of ovarian cancer, interleukins (ILs) and interferons (IFNs), important cytokines that play crucial roles in regulating the immune system, have emerged as significant factors influencing its development. This article provides a comprehensive review of the involvement of various ILs, including those from the IL-1 family, IL-2 family, IL-6 family, IL-8 family, IL-10 family, and IL-17 family, in ovarian cancer.

Cancer is a complex genetic anomaly involving coding and non-coding transcript structural and expressive irregularities. A class of tiny non-coding RNAs known as microRNAs (miRNAs) regulates gene expression at the post-transcriptional level by binding only to messenger RNAs (mRNAs). Due to their capacity to target numerous genes, miRNAs have the potential to play a significant role in the development of tumors by controlling several biological processes, including angiogenesis, drug resistance, metastasis, apoptosis, proliferation, and drug resistance.

Conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) are polyunsaturated fatty acids primarily found in dairy products and ruminant animal products such as beef, lamb, and butter. Supplementation of CLAs has recently become popular among athletes due to the variety of health-promoting effects, including improvements in physical performance. Preclinical and some clinical studies have shown that CLAs can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress and favorably modulate body composition and physical performance; however, the results of previously published clinical trials are mixed.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), which comprise most non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs), have recently become a focus of cancer research. How many functional ncRNAs exist is still a matter of debate. Although insufficient evidence supports that most lncRNAs function as transcriptional by-products, it is widely known that an increasing number of lncRNAs play essential roles in cells.

Non-catalytic pyrolysis of brown macroalgae (Padina sp.) was studied in a batch reactor at temperature ranges of 400-600 °C and 10-90 min reaction times on the product distribution and conversion rate behavior. The highest pyro-oil and pyro-gas yields were obtained at 600 °C, which reached 67 wt% and 27 wt%, respectively, when the reaction times were prolonged (30-90 min).

This study describes the rational design for the fabrication of bulk NiSn alloy catalysts for the de/hydration-hydrogenation of biomass-derived furfural (FFald) to 1,4-pentanediol (1,4-PeD) without the acidic co-catalyst. The presence of both hydration active sites (Brønsted acid sites (Ni-SnO)) and hydrogenation active sites (Ni or Ni-Sn alloy) in NiSn alloy could be controlled by changing the pH of Ni-Sn solution during the preparation. Both active sites acted synergistically to catalyse the de/hydration-hydrogenation reactions of FFald to produce a high yield of 1,4-PeD in a batch reaction system at 433 K, 3.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are non-coding RNAs that were transcribed from the human genome and have become important regulators in a number of cellular activities, mostly via controlling gene expression. A growing body of evidence shows that lncRNAs regulate various factors to impact various biological activities that are related to tumorigenesis, including the Janus kinase (JAK)-signal transducer and activator of transcription (STAT) pathway. lncRNAs influence the JAK-STAT signaling pathway either by directly targeting or via indirectly modulating other upstream or downstream pathways' components like members of the suppressor of cytokine signaling (SOCS) family, and other genes that regulate cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, invasion, and epithelial-mesenchymal transition.

Noncoding RNAs are a type of cellular RNA not having the ability to translate into proteins. As an important type of ncRNA with a length of about 22 nucleotides (nt), microRNAs were revealed to contribute to regulating the various cellular functions via regulating the protein translation of target genes. Among them, available studies proposed that miR-495-3p is a pivotal player in cancer pathogenesis.

The extracellular matrixes (ECM), as well as the microenvironmental signals, play an essential role in osteogenesis by regulating intercellular pathways. Recently, it has been demonstrated that a newly identified RNA, circular RNA, contributes to the osteogenesis process. Circular RNA (circRNA), the most recently identified RNA, is involved in the regulation of gene expression at transcription to translation levels.

Non-healing wounds impose a huge annual cost on the survival of different countries and large populations in the world. Wound healing is a complex and multi-step process, the speed and quality of which can be changed by various factors. To promote wound healing, compounds such as platelet-rich plasma, growth factors, platelet lysate, scaffolds, matrix, hydrogel, and cell therapy, in particular, with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are suggested.

Coal mining that applies the open pit method has the potential to generate acid mine drainage. Acid mine drainage (AMD) treatments must include processes to mitigate significant challenges; these treatments include active treatment with high costs and process uncertainty and passive treatment with its limitations. The new concept of the swampy forest system involves the development of passive treatment for AMD, which lowers costs, increases capacity, and provides a natural process to mitigate the AMD that has been generated.

Establishing reference ranges of the complete blood count (CBC), reticulocyte hemoglobin content (Ret-He), immature reticulocyte fraction (IRF), and reticulocyte production index (RPI) helps diagnose a disease related to the changes in erythrocyte indices, white blood count, platelets, and reticulocytes, especially in babies. Therefore, the study aims to establish a reference range for CBC and reticulocyte parameters in healthy babies aged 1-4 months. The study design was a cross-sectional study with descriptive analysis of CBC and reticulocyte in babies aged 1-4 months.
