Department of Chemistry, University of Education, Main Campus, College Road, Township, Block C, Phase 1, Johar Town, Lahore, Pakistan.

Skin, largest organ of human, is directly exposed to environment and hence is prone to high rates of injuries and microbial infections. Over the passage of time these microbes have developed resistance to antibiotics making them ineffective especially in lower doses and hence, higher dosages or new drugs are required. The current study deals with designing of nano-emulsion (NE) formulations composed of garlic and ginger oils (0.

GGA and GGA + U Study of ThMnSi and ThMnGe Compounds in a Body-Centered Tetragonal Ferromagnetic Phase.

Molecules

October 2022

Center of Excellence Geopolymer and Green Technology (CEGeoGTech), University Malaysia Perlis, Kangar 01007, Perlis, Malaysia.

Our study used the full-potential linearized augmented plane waves (FP-LAPW) method to conduct a first-principles evaluation of the structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of ThMnX (X = Si and Ge) compounds. To establish theoretical dependability with the currently available experimental results, computations for the structural findings of ternary intermetallic thorium (Th)-based compounds were achieved using the generalized gradient approximation in the scheme of Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE-GGA) potential, while the generalized gradient approximation plus the Hubbard U (GGA + U) approach was employed to improve the electrical and magnetic properties. In contrast with both the paramagnetic (PM) and antiferromagnetic (AFM) phases, the ThMnX compounds were optimized in a stable ferromagnetic (FM) phase, which was more suited for studying and analyzing magnetic properties.

An automated sleep stage categorization can readily face noise-contaminated EEG recordings, just as other signal processing applications. Therefore, the denoising of the contaminated signals is inevitable to ensure a reliable analysis of the EEG signals. In this research work, an empirical mode decomposition is used in combination with stacked autoencoders to conduct automatic sleep stage classification with reliable analytical performance.

Hexavalent chromium is a very poisonous oxyanion and has had a negative impact on human health. This study assessed the viability of removing chromium(vi) using micellar modified adsorbents. In this study, chromium(vi) was removed from locally accessible wheat bran using separate applications of anionic sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) and cationic cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) surfactants.

Long non-coding RNA (LncRNA) is a novel and diverse class of regulatory transcripts that are frequently dysregulated in numerous tumor types. LncRNAs are involved in a complicated molecular network, regulating gene expression, and modulating diverse cellular activities in different cancers including colorectal cancer (CRC). Evidence indicates that lncRNAs can be used as a potential biomarker for the prognosis and diagnosis of CRC as they are aberrantly expressed in CRC cells.
