Background: Aortic stenosis (AS) is treated through transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR), with diabetes being prevalent among these patients. Inflammation participates in the pathogenesis of AS, and emerging evidence suggests that TAVI may exert anti-inflammatory effects. Given the established link between diabetes and inflammation, we sought to evaluate the impact of aortic valve replacement (AVR) on glycemic control.

Multi-refractory immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) is not uncommon and associated with high morbidity and mortality rates. Although the precise mechanism of ITP is not yet fully understood, a therapeutic approach that relies on using a single agent in each treatment line may not be sufficient in this population. We report the case of a 67-year-old female with long-standing multi-refractory ITP treated with a combination of Daratumumab and Romiplostim who achieved a durable response for more than 42 weeks.

Background: A ground glass nodule (GGN) is a radiologically descriptive term for a lung parenchymal area with increased attenuation and preserved bronchial and vascular structures. GGNs are further divided into pure versus subsolid lesions. The differential diagnosis for GGNs is wide and contains a malignant possibility for a lung adenocarcinoma precursor or tumor.

Background: Pacemaker recipients demonstrate a higher prevalence of atrial fibrillation (AF), yet the regular ventricular activation in pacemaker-dependent patients with AF presents a substantial diagnostic challenge.
Methods: A total of 310 medical practitioners completed a brief, validated survey consisting of three electrocardiograms displaying AF with ventricular pacing. Participants were instructed to identify the underlying rhythm.

Introduction: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia in clinical practice, yet interpretation concerns among healthcare providers persist. Confounding factors contribute to false-positive and false-negative AF diagnoses, leading to potential omissions. Artificial intelligence advancements show promise in electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation.

Background: The radiologic criteria of hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) guidelines focus on four HP compatible features (HPCF) in high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT): ground glass opacities, mosaic attenuation, air-trapping, and centrilobular nodules. However, evidence to support these criteria are limited.
Methods: Consecutive interstitial lung disease (ILD) patients who underwent HRCT between 2016 and 2021 in three medical centers were included.

Purpose: To assess the postpartum sensitivity and accuracy of serum HbA1c levels, compared to the gold standard of 75-g Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT), for diagnosis of dysglycemia in patients with a history of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Methods: A nationwide retrospective analysis of individuals with a history of GDM and with records of both postpartum 2 h-OGTT and serum HbA1c measured anytime between delivery until 12 months post-delivery. Results were stratified into 3 different intervals: 0-3 months, 3-12 months, and > 12 months after delivery, according to the timing of both OGTT and HbA1c performance.

Deciphering the spectrum and founder disease-causing variants (DCVs) in specific populations can shape and facilitate the diagnostic process of Lynch Syndrome (LS). The aim of this report was to comprehensively update on the genetic landscape of LS in the ethnically diverse Israeli-Jewish population. The cohort included 1080 carriers from 588 families; some from underrepresented, understudied Israeli ethnic groups recruited from 8 genetic institutes and high-risk clinics throughout the country.

In Israel there is no registry of multiple sclerosis (MS), thus the prevalence of MS is unknown. Clalit Health Services (CHS) is Israel's largest health care organization. We have developed an algorithm to identify people with MS (PwMS) using CHS database and validated it against a gold-standard diagnosis by expert neurologists.

Real-world data on the implementation and prognostic impact of glucose-lowering drugs with proven cardiovascular benefits in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) following acute coronary syndrome (ACS) are limited. We investigated the utilization and treatment patterns of sodium-glucose contrasporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2Is) and glucagon-like peptide-1 recepto-agonists (GLP1RAs) in patients with T2D experiencing ACS and analyzed their association with mortality and major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) including recurrent ACS, acute revascularization, heart failure, or ischemic stroke. : We carried out a retrospective analysis of 9756 patients with T2D from a nationwide healthcare organization in Israel who were hospitalized with ACS between 01/2019 and 01/2022.

Objective: To evaluate the optimal timing for fetal weight estimation during the third trimester.
Methods: This retrospective cohort study involved fetal weight estimations from both early (28-36 weeks) and late (37 weeks and beyond) third trimester. These estimations were converted to predicted birth weights using the gestation-adjusted projection formula.
