Exploring the efficacy of virtual reality-based rehabilitation in stroke: a narrative review of current evidence.

Background: Stroke rehabilitation presents a complex challenge, necessitating innovative approaches to optimise functional recovery. Virtual Reality-Based Rehabilitation (VRBR) has emerged as a promising intervention that capitalises on immersive technology to engage stroke survivors in their recovery journey. This review aims to examine the efficacy of VRBR in stroke rehabilitation, focusing on its advantages and challenges.

Prevalence of echocardiographic left atrial enlargement among hypertensive Nigerian subjects.

Background: Left atrial enlargement (LAE) predispose to arrhythmias, atrial thrombogenesis and cardioembolic stroke. Whether LAE constitute a major risk among African hypertensive subjects is not well described. This study was aimed to describe the epidemiologic pattern of LAE among hypertensive subjects and determine their correlates.

Background: Survival times of oral cancer are poorly documented in Nigeria. This is partly due to poor documentation and limited investigations to elicit sufficient prognostic factors. In this study, we applied a new statistical model for survival times of oral cancer patients considering limited prognostic factors.

Kinetic and thermodynamic studies of fenton oxidative decolorization of methylene blue.

The need for light intensity has made dye degradation very costly for industry. In this work, Fenton reagent was used for the efficient degradation of an aqueous solution of dye without the need for a light source. The influences of the pH of the media, the initial concentrations of Fe, HO, and methylene blue (MB) dye; in addition to temperature on the oxidation of MB dye were studied.

Determination of Residential Soil Gas Radon Risk Indices Over the Lithological Units of a Southwestern Nigeria University.

Radiation dose from natural sources is mainly from exposure to radon in the environment. Radon has its origin from uranium-bearing bedrocks and overburden. In the present study, assessment of the level of radon over the three lithological units upon which the residential areas of ObafemiAwolowo University Campus, Ile-Ife (OAU) was situated was carried out.
