"With Great Responsibility Comes Great Uncertainty".

J Gen Intern Med

July 2024

Service de Médecine Interne et Immunologie Clinique, CHU Nantes, 1 Place Alexis-Ricordeau, 44000, Nantes, France.

However, a broader conceptual framework addressing uncertainty experience, from the sources of uncertainty to residents' responses, is still needed.

While studies have extensively examined UT dimensions, including sources, responses, and moderators, the factors influencing the perception of uncertainty stimuli remain underexplored.

Introduction: Virtual communities related to cancer, as with other chronic pathologies, seem to constitute a population likely to have a privileged relationship with e-health technologies. However, although many studies have sought to identify the characteristics of e-health users, none has focused specifically on members of health-related virtual communities. The objective is to identify the psychosocial determinants of the use of connected objects and health applications (COAs) among members of an online community of interest in cancer, the Seintinelles.

Laboratoire de Psychopathologie et Processus de Santé (EA 4057), Institut de Psychologie, Université Paris Descartes, Sorbonne Paris Cité, 71, Avenue Édouard Vaillant, 92100, Boulogne-Billancourt, France.

After being wrongfully blamed for their child's disturbances, French parents of a child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) are now perceived as essential partners of care professionals.
