Introduction: This work aimed to analyze whether breastfeeding is a predictive factor for admission to ICU or needing mechanical ventilation in children under 6 months with RSV+ respiratory infection.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was performed in three hospitals. Binary and multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the association of variables with admission to the ICU or receiving mechanical ventilation.

Wolfram syndrome (WS) is a rare neurodegenerative disease usually of autosomal recessive origin. There is limited research about sensorineural hearing loss, despite it being a fundamental entity. It is important to broaden the study of this disease and specify a set of tests required for an adequate assessment of patients for efficient monitoring and control.

(1) Background: The accuracy of ultrasound estimation of fetal weight (EFW) at term may be useful in addressing obstetric complications since birth weight (BW) is a parameter that represents an important prognostic factor for perinatal and maternal morbidity. (2) Methods: In a retrospective cohort study of 2156 women with a singleton pregnancy, it is verified whether or not perinatal and maternal morbidity differs between extreme BWs estimated at term by ultrasound within the seven days prior to birth with Accurate EFW (difference < 10% between EFW and BW) and those with Non-Accurate EFW (difference ≥ 10% between EFW and BW). (3) Results: Significantly worse perinatal outcomes (according to different variables such as higher rate of arterial pH at birth < 7.

The aim of this study was to assess the validity of ultrasound carried out within seven days prior to birth at term for the calculation of full term estimated foetal weight (EFW) in order to diagnose extreme foetal weight, performed using a single-center retrospective cohort study of 2500 pregnant women. Ultrasound calculations of EFW with a standard error of less than 10% showed an accuracy ratio of 75.1% for the total sample.

The accuracy with which the estimation of fetal weight (EFW) at term is determined is useful in order to address obstetric complications, since it is a parameter that represents an important prognostic factor for perinatal and maternal morbidity and mortality. The aim of this study was to determine the role of the experienced observers with other variables that could influence the accuracy of the ultrasound used to calculate EFW at term, carried out within a period of seven days prior to delivery, in order to assess interobserver variability. A cross-sectional study was performed including 1144 pregnancies at term.

The association between assisted conception and breastfeeding outcomes has been investigated, but the women's experiences have not been fully explored. This study aimed to describe and understand the breastfeeding experience of first-time mothers who conceived using assisted reproductive treatment. A qualitative study based on Gadamer's hermeneutic phenomenology was conducted with a sample of 27 women who conceived using assisted reproductive treatment during the last 10 years.

Background: Folliculitis decalvans (FD) is a rare neutrophilic cicatricial alopecia that poses a therapeutic challenge.
Objectives: To describe the therapeutic response in a large number of cases of FD with long-term follow-up and analyze potential prognostic factors associated with severity of form and with a better therapeutic response.
Methods: This multicenter prospective study included patients with FD who had a minimum of 5 years of follow-up.
Purpose: The aim of this study is to determine whether antibiotic prophylaxis is required in this outpatient procedure.
Materials And Methods: A non-randomised, prospective observational study that included 184 patients subjected to flexible cystoscopy divided into three groups: - Group 1:60 patients with prophylaxis of 500 mg of ciprofloxacin;- Group 2:62 patients with prophylaxis of 3 g of phosphomycin; and Group 3:62 without antibiotic prophylaxis. Prior to inclusion in the study, absence of infection was checked by means of a urine culture obtained 7 days before the procedure.

Objective: The aim of this study is to analyze urine concentrations (mg/dl) of different lithogenic factors in a sample of 24 h as a predictor of these changes rather than absolute values depend on the volume of diuresis.
Methods: A total of 131 patients from the North Almeria Health Management Area (Spain) with urinary calstone disease in whom a metabolic study was indicated were included from June 2014 to May 2015. The concentrations of calcium, oxalate, uric acid, citrate and magnesium were measured in the urine, and the calcium/citrate ratio was calculated.

Metabolic evaluation is important in high-risk patients with a history of urinary calculi, in order to prevent recurrence. This study aimed to compare patients with calcium calculi and mild lithogenic activity with those with moderate to severe lithogenic activity. Patients with moderate to severe activity had higher levels of urinary calcium level (271.

Inner ear bone malformations are one cause of profound sensorineural hearing loss. This investigation focused on those affecting the posterior labyrinth, especially enlarged vestibular aqueduct syndrome, which is associated with fluctuating and progressive hearing loss. The objectives of this study were to analyze the behavior of the electrical stimulation, auditory functionality and linguistic development in patients with inner ear malformations involving the posterior labyrinth.

Background: The aim of this study was to show the presence of phosphorus and calcium metabolism disorders and the presence of urine lithogenic factors in women with osteoporotic fracture without previous urinary lithiasis.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study including 55 women with osteoporotic fracture surgically treated in the Trauma Department. We included women with osteoporotic fracture demonstrated by the fracture area, fracture mechanism and the presence of osteoporosis by bone densitometry.
