The data from 58 hips in 29 myelodysplastic children with L3 paralysis has been reviewed retrospectively. Posterolateral transfer of the iliopsoas (Sharrard technique) was performed on all hips to correct muscle imbalance between 1975 and 1992. The average length of follow-up was 21 years.

Relative overgrowth of the greater trochanter is a problem related to proximal femoral growth cartilage damage. Eleven hips in 10 patients aged 4-13 years with acquired coxa vara were retrospectively reviewed. Distal and lateral transfer of the greater trochanter was performed in all patients.

This article presents a 3-year prospective study that includes 103 consecutive patients (137 hips) diagnosed with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) at birth. Treatment was started after 2 weeks only if the hips had not stabilized spontaneously. Sonographic studies were first used when clinical stability was confirmed to ensure a true concentric hip reduction.

Congenital pseudarthrosis of the clavicle: a proposal for early surgical treatment.

We present a review of six cases of children with congenital pseudarthrosis of the clavicle, treated and followed up at the "La Fe" Hospital for Children. One of them had bilateral involvement. Five of them, including the bilateral case, were surgically treated at ages ranging from 18 months to 4 years.

Childhood periosteal chondroma.

We report here three fully documented cases of periosteal chondroma diagnosed and treated in our hospital. There have been few references since Lichtenstein first described this condition as a separate tumour, and none of them concerned children under 10 years old. deSantos accurately describes the radiological features of the tumour.
