A significant unmet need remains for patients with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) who fail to respond to first-line treatment or experience an early relapse. Tinostamustine, a novel alkylating deacetylase inhibitor, inhibits tumor cell growth and slows disease progression in models of hematological malignancies and solid tumors. This was a Phase I, multicenter, open-label, two-stage trial investigating the safety and efficacy of tinostamustine in patients ≥ 18 years with relapsed/refractory (R/R) hematological malignancies, including HL.

Purpose: We present a virtual model to optimize point of entry (POE) in lung biopsy planning systems. Our model allows to compute the quality of a biopsy sample taken from potential POE, taking into account the margin of error that arises from discrepancies between the orientation in the planning simulation and the actual orientation during the operation. Additionally, the study examines the impact of the characteristics of the lesion.

Bariatric surgery is effective for the treatment and remission of obesity and type 2 diabetes, but pharmacological approaches which exert similar metabolic adaptations are needed to avoid post-surgical complications. Here we show how G49, an oxyntomodulin (OXM) analog and dual glucagon/glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GCGR/GLP-1R) agonist, triggers an inter-organ crosstalk between adipose tissue, pancreas, and liver which is initiated by a rapid release of free fatty acids (FFAs) by white adipose tissue (WAT) in a GCGR-dependent manner. This interactome leads to elevations in adiponectin and fibroblast growth factor 21 (FGF21), causing WAT beiging, brown adipose tissue (BAT) activation, increased energy expenditure (EE) and weight loss.

Introduction: Achondroplasia is a common skeletal dysplasia caused by a mutation in the FGFR3 gene, leading to disproportionate short stature and various clinical features. Despite the absence of definitive pharmacological treatments, mindfulness-based interventions may offer psychosocial benefits for affected individuals and their families.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the feasibility and psychosocial effects of an online mindfulness intervention for children and adolescents with achondroplasia and their parents.

The document provides a comprehensive overview of the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis (AAV) with renal involvement, focusing on granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and microscopic polyangiitis (MPA). It outlines the definitions, clinical presentation, histopathological classification, monitoring strategies, induction and maintenance treatments, as well as special considerations for relapsing, refractory, and frail patients with renal AAV. The document was prepared by the Catalan Group for the Study of Glomerular Diseases (GLOMCAT), which comprises nephrologists with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of AAV patients.

: Sinonasal exophytic papillomas (SNEP) are benign tumours arising from nasal mucosa. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection seems to be related to the aetiology of a fraction of SNEP cases. SNEP presentation can be focal (FSNEP) or diffuse (DSNEP), but factors related to focal or diffuse presentation have not yet been well ascertained.

: Oral rehabilitation seeks to enhance mastication, a vital component of oral function that is compromised by tooth loss. This study aimed to assess the degree of improvement of masticatory performance in partially edentulous patients rehabilitated with removable partial dentures (RPD) or fixed partial dental prosthesis (FPDP). Changes in the occlusal contact area (OCA) and satisfaction with their chewing ability during the adaptation period were also evaluated.

Background: Varying obesogenic inherited predisposition in early to later life may differentially impact colorectal cancer (CRC) development. Previous Mendelian randomization (MR) studies, conducted in populations of European genetic similarity, have not observed any significant associations between early life body weight with CRC risk. However, it remains unclear whether body mass index (BMI) at different early lifetime points is causally related with CRC risk in both Europeans and East Asian populations.

Background: Oral biopsy is a fundamental surgical procedure used to obtain a histopathological result that assists clinicians in establishing a definitive diagnosis of oral mucosal lesions. The aim of this study was to asses the knowledge and attitudes of dental students, general dentists, and oral surgery experts regarding the detection of oral lesions and the use of biopsy as a diagnostic tool.
Material And Methods: a self-administered questionnaire consisting of 26 questions and 3 clinical cases on oral lesions was distributed to general dentists, oral surgery specialists and final-year dentistry students at the University of Barcelona.
Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is an inherited disorder whose causal variants involve sarcomeric protein genes. One of these is myosin-binding protein C (MYBPC3), being previously associated with a favourable prognosis. Our objective is to describe the clinical characteristics and events of a molecularly homogeneous HCM cohort associated with truncating variants.

Methods: This multicentre retrospective study conducted in 15 Spanish hospitals included data from the first MRSA-BSIs of adult patients between January 2019 and December 2022.
Introduction: There is a growing number of people with HIV who are aged 50 years or older, and the prevalence of loneliness and social isolation remains unknown.
Methods: A multicentre study was conducted across 22 GeSIDA centres. A survey was carried out to assess loneliness [UCLA 3-item Loneliness Scale-3 (UCLA-3)] and social isolation [Lubben Social Network Scale-Revised (LSNS-R)], along with sociodemographic aspects, HIV-related factors, comorbidities, tobacco, alcohol and drug consumption, quality of life, anxiety and depression, and stigma.

Colorectal liver metastases grow following different histologic growth patterns (HGPs), classified as desmoplastic and nondesmoplastic (dHGP, non-dHGP), being the latter associated with worst prognosis. This study aimed to investigate the tumor microenvironment (TME) between HGPs supporting different survival. Multiplexed immunohistochemical staining was performed with the Opal7 system in a 100-patients cohort to evaluate the tumor-liver interface with three different cell panels: lymphoid, myeloid, and carcinoma-associated fibroblasts.

Introduction: Bacteremia is a life-threatening condition that can progress to sepsis and septic shock, leading to significant mortality in the emergency department (ED). The standard diagnostic method, blood culture, is time-consuming and prone to false positives and false negatives. Although not widely accepted, several clinical and artificial intelligence-based algorithms have been recently developed to predict bacteremia.

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning are increasingly being used in all medical fields including for epilepsy research and clinical care. Already there have been resultant cutting-edge applications in both the clinical and research arenas of epileptology. Because there is a need to disseminate knowledge about these approaches, how to use them, their advantages, and their potential limitations, the goal of the 2023 Merritt-Putnam Symposium and of this synopsis review of that symposium has been to present the background and state of the art and then to draw conclusions on current and future applications of these approaches through the following: (1) Initially provide an explanation of the fundamental principles of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning.

Introduction: Obsessive compulsive disorder is associated with affected executive functioning, including memory, cognitive flexibility, and organizational strategies. As it was reported in previous studies, patients with preserved executive functions respond better to pharmacological treatment, while others need to keep trying different pharmacological strategies.
Material And Methods: In this work we used machine learning techniques to predict pharmacological response (OCD patients' symptomatology reduction) based on executive functioning and clinical variables.
