A rare case of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma of the Prostate on 18F-FDG PET-CT.

18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET-CT is an excellent imaging modality for the evaluation of Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. We report a case of 65-year-old man with haematuria; rectal examination and ultrasonography revealed prostate mass. Staging 18F-FDG PET-CT images showed a large hypermetabolic, infiltrative prostate mass.

FGFR Pathway Inhibition in Gastric Cancer: The Golden Era of an Old Target?

Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-associated death worldwide. The majority of patients are diagnosed at an advanced/metastatic stage of disease due to a lack of specific symptoms and lack of screening programs, especially in Western countries. Thus, despite the improvement in GC therapeutic opportunities, the survival is disappointing, and the definition of the optimal treatment is still an unmet need.

Objective: Candida auris has emerged as a health-care-associated and multidrug-resistant fungal pathogen of great clinical concern. As many as 50% of C. auris clinical isolates are reported to be resistant to amphotericin B, but no mechanisms contributing to this resistance have been identified.

Estimation of patient effective doses in PET/CT- F-Sodium Fluoride examinations.

The positron emitters (F-Sodium Fluoride (NaF)) and X-rays used in Positron emission tomography (PET) combined with computed tomography (PET/CT) imaging have a high radiation dose, which results in a high patient dose. The present research intends to determine the radiation dose and risks associated with PET/CT- 18F-Sodium fluoride examinations in patients. The 18F-NaF PET/CT was used to investigate the doses of 86 patients.

F-Sodium Fluoride (NaF) Uptake in Calcified Bladder Carcinoma: Double Density Sign.

F-Sodium fluoride (NaF) is primarily a skeletal imaging agent which can be localized in extraosseous calcified foci. Here, we describe a case of a 48-year-old man with bladder carcinoma referred for staging using F-NaF positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT). F-NaF PET/CT detected a calcified soft tissue mass in the urinary bladder.

Fluorine-18 Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography in Hodgkin's Lymphoma: Diagnostic Challenge during COVID Vaccination.

Benign metabolic uptake on fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (F-FDG PET) is not uncommonly seen after immunization. We report a case of 30-year-old man with Hodgkin's lymphoma who underwent two cycles of chemotherapy. Interim F-FDG PET/computed tomography demonstrated complete metabolic response of prior hypermetabolic bilateral supraclavicular and mediastinal lymph nodes.

Excellent Response to Adapted Low-Dose 177Lu-PSMA-617 PSMA Therapy in Renal Compromise Patient.

Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeted radioligand therapy with 177Lu-PSMA-617 has shown promising results in patients with metastasized castration-resistant prostate cancer. We report a case of a 74-year-old man with metastatic prostate cancer with comorbidities of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. In order to minimize radiation burden to kidneys, a lower dose of 4 GBq of 177Lu-PSMA-617 was prescribed instead of the usual 6 to 7 GBq.

Evaluation of the Oncomine Comprehensive Assay v3 panel for the detection of 1p/19q codeletion in oligodendroglial tumours.

Aims: Accurate assessment of 1p/19q codeletion status in diffuse gliomas is of paramount importance for diagnostic, prognostic and predictive purposes. While targeted next generation sequencing (NGS) has been widely implemented for glioma molecular profiling, its role in detecting structural chromosomal variants is less well established, requiring supplementary informatic tools for robust detection. Herein, we evaluated a commercially available amplicon-based targeted NGS panel (Oncomine Comprehensive Assay v3) for the detection of 1p/19q losses in glioma tissues using an Ion Torrent platform and the standard built-in NGS data analysis pipeline solely.

Symptomatic Os Navicular on 99mTc-MDP SPECT/CT.

Os navicular bone is an accessory bone of the foot, which is mainly found on the medial side of the proximal navicular bone. Os navicular bone may be symptomatic and cause medial foot pain. We report a case of a 42-year-old athlete male having right foot pain diagnosed with os navicular syndrome on 99mTc-MDP bone scintigraphy SPECT/CT.

Prognosis and Outcome of Fit Patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia in Kuwait.

Purpose: Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) data from the Middle East are limited to single-center studies. We report leukemia-free survival (LFS) and overall survival (OS) of young (≤70 years) patients with AML treated in Kuwait.

Patients And Methods: This study investigated prognostic markers among 172 young and fit patients with de novo nonacute promyelocytic leukemia AML treated with intensive induction protocols from a tertiary cancer center.

Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Lymphoma : Impact of Chemotherapy Choice.

Objective/background: Data generated from retrospective studies on primary mediastinal B-cell lymphoma (PMBCL) outcome are valuable as no prospective phase 3 trials have been conducted in this rare type of lymphoma.

Methods: Our goal was to assess the long-term outcome of 41 patients with PMBCL who were treated at the Kuwait Cancer Center. We evaluated two types of multidrug treatment, R-CHOP (rituximab, vincristine, doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and prednisone) and DA-EPOCH-R (etoposide, prednisone, vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and rituximab), and determined overall survival and complete response (CR) as primary endpoints.

Thyroid Cancer Detected on 68Ga-PMSA PET/CT.

Ga-68 PSMA is a promising radiotracer for both staging and detection of biochemical recurrence in prostate cancer. PSMA is also expressed in the endothelium of tumour-associated neo vasculature of various solid malignancies possibly due to tumour-associated angiogenic factors and endothelial cell sprouting. We report a case of 72-yearold male with known prostate cancer on follow-up with mild increase in serum PSA level.

Background: Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) is the most common hematological malignancy in the world. Many etiologic factors have been implicated in the risk of developing NHL, including genetic susceptibility and obesity. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in Ghrelin (GHRL), an anti-inflammatory hormone, and tumor necrosis factor α (TNF-α), an inflammatory cytokine, have been independently associated with the risk for obesity and NHL.

Background: Early detection of pancreatic adenocarcinomas is essential for improving survival. In this regard, endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration cytology (EUS-FNAC) has established itself as the method of choice for its ability to target lesions smaller than those which could be targeted by the traditional imaging methods like transabdominal ultrasound. Identifying these tumors correctly on FNA may be challenging because pancreatic adenocarcinomas may show a wide range of morphological features and the presence of contaminants from the gastrointestinal tract may show up as potential pitfalls.

Introduction: Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) is used as a biomarker for anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) or anti-PD-L1 immunotherapies in NSCLC. We report here the results of population-based PD-L1 testing using the 22C3 IHC pharmDx Assay (Agilent Technologies) in a large Canadian regional reference pathology laboratory.

Methods: Testing was conducted reflexively on biopsies and resections for NSCLC during an 8-month period.

National approaches to managing cancer care: responses of countries in the MENA region to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Background: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic presents serious challenges to cancer care because of the associated risks from the infection itself and the disruption of care delivery. Therefore, many professional societies have published recommendations to help manage patients with cancer during the current pandemic. The objective of our study is to assess the national responses of Middle East North Africa (MENA) countries in terms of publishing relevant guidelines and analyse various components of these guidelines.

COVID-19 Vaccination Manifesting as Incidental Lymph Nodal Uptake on 18F-FDG PET/CT.

Benign uptake on 18F-FDG PET can be seen with inflammatory conditions. We report a case of an 86-year-old woman with successfully treated nasal melanoma who underwent routine follow-up 18F-FDG PET, day 6 after the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine inoculated in the left deltoid muscle. 18F-FDG PET showed increase tracer uptake in the left deltoid muscle and in 2 normal-sized left subpectoral nodes.

Occult Bone Metastases From Hepatocellular Carcinoma Detected on 68Ga-PMSA PET/CT.

68Ga-PSMA is an excellent radiotracer for both staging and detection of recurrence in prostate cancer, but it can also be useful in other solid tumors due to tumor-associated angiogenic factors and endothelial cell sprouting. We report a case of an 82-year-old man with hepatocellular carcinoma who presented with rising tumor marker but stable CT findings 6 months after transarterial chemoembolization. 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT showed high PSMA-expressing hyperneovascular hepatic lesions (primary tumor), additional multifocal hepatic lesions, and with unexpected multiple bone metastases.

An Overview of Medullary Thyroid Cancer Cases Treated at Kuwait Cancer Control Center.

Introduction: Medullary thyroid cancers (MTC) constitute about 5% of all thyroid cancers. The 10-year overall survival (OS) rate of patients with localized disease in thyroid for this pathology is 80% to 90% which is comparable with differentiated thyroid cancers, figures drop to 75% for cases with nodal metastases. Only 20% of patients with distant metastases at diagnosis survive for 10 years.

Safety and tolerability of regorafenib: a real-life experience.

Background: Regorafenib has been approved among the treatment options for patients with advanced stage colorectal cancer (CRC), hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). In this study, we aim to report the real-life experience of the safety and tolerability regorafenib in our institution.

Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review of 43 patients who received regorafenib in Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC) from 2016 to the end of 2019.

Incremental Value of Post Diuretic 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET-CT in Characterization of Indeterminate lLesions in Prostate Cancer.

Objective: The aim of current study is to evaluate the role of diuretic assisted 68Ga-PSMA PET-CT, on image quality and clinical interpretation of indeterminate/equivocal lesions in pre-Lasix imaging of Prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: Forty-five patients underwent baseline 68Ga-PSMA-11 scan 45-60 minutes post tracer injection followed by post Lasix study after ±15 minutes. The contrast to noise ratios (CNR), noise and SUVmax were determined for the focal uptakes in both pre and post Lasix images.
