Fluorescent glucose sensors often utilize nanotechnology to detect glucose in a sensitive and targeted manner. Nanoscale materials increase the sensitivity and efficiency of sensors by better understanding and managing the properties and interactions of the structure to be sensed. Nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dots (N-CQD), which work with the concept of fluorescence quenching or switching on because of specific processes in the presence of glucose, are one type of nanoscale material added to these sensors.

Zearalenone (ZEN) is a mycotoxin that poses significant risks to human and animal health due to its mutagenic, immunosuppressive, and carcinogenic properties. This study presents a novel analytical method for detecting ZEN using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) combined with a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP). ZEN, used as the template molecule, was incorporated into polypyrrole on screen-printed electrodes (SPE), and a ZEN-sensitive MIP sensor was created through template removal.

Background: Violence in healthcare is a global issue that healthcare professionals experience. The concerning increase in violent incidents in Turkiye particularly makes it a significant problem to explore by examining the underlying psychological factors. In this sense, this study focuses on the concept of Schadenfreude, the malicious joy of someone else's misfortune, towards doctors, which is an under-researched topic in healthcare violence.

The objective of this study is to determine the components that contribute to psychological resilience in adolescents and to determine if physical exercise, emotion control, or self-efficacy are more effective predictors of resilience. Data from participants was collected through a personal information form, the International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short Form, the Self-Efficacy Scale for Children, the Emotion Regulation Scale for Children and Adolescents, and the Psychological Resilience Scale for Children and Adolescents. The data were gathered online from 16 out of the 81 provinces in Turkey, representing 7 different regions, using convenience sampling.

Background And Objective: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a neurodegenerative autoimmune disease affecting the central nervous system, leading to various neurological symptoms. Early detection is paramount to prevent enduring damage during MS episodes. Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a common diagnostic tool, this study aims to explore the feasibility of using electroencephalography (EEG) signals for MS detection, considering their accessibility and ease of application compared to MRI.

In this study, a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) aptasensor for carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), a well-known biomarker for various cancer types, was reported, utilizing two different aptamers. To achieve this, a nanofilm of 4-mercaptophenyl was electrochemically attached to gold-coated QCM crystal surfaces via the reduction of 4-mercaptobenzenediazonium salt (4 MB-DAT) using cyclic voltammetry. Subsequently, gold nanoparticles (AuNP) were affixed to this structure, and then aptamers (antiCEA1 and antiCEA2) modified with SH-functional ends bound to AuNPs completed the modification.

Principal instructional leadership (PIL) is significant for school effectiveness due to its direct and indirect influences on school-, teacher-, and student-level variables. A considerable number of studies have provided persuasive evidence that PIL is associated with both collective efficacy (CEF) and teacher self-efficacy (TSEF), two significant variables to sustain the quality of instruction. These studies were conducted with a variety of participants from various contexts.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to assess the accuracy of computer-assisted periodontal classification bone loss staging using deep learning (DL) methods on panoramic radiographs and to compare the performance of various models and layers.
Methods: Panoramic radiographs were diagnosed and classified into 3 groups, namely "healthy," "Stage1/2," and "Stage3/4," and stored in separate folders. The feature extraction stage involved transferring and retraining the feature extraction layers and weights from 3 models, namely ResNet50, DenseNet121, and InceptionV3, which were proposed for classifying the ImageNet dataset, to 3 DL models designed for classifying periodontal bone loss.

This data article presents a description of a benchmark dataset for the multi-objective flexible job shop scheduling problem in a cellular manufacturing environment. This problem considers intercellular moves, exceptional parts, sequence-dependent family setup and intercellular transportation times, and recirculation requiring minimization of makespan and total tardiness simultaneously. It is called a flexible job shop cell scheduling problem with sequence-dependent family setup times and intercellular transportation times (FJCS-SDFSTs-ITTs) problem.

Dung removal by macrofauna such as dung beetles is an important process for nutrient cycling in pasturelands. Intensification of farming practices generally reduces species and functional diversity of terrestrial invertebrates, which may negatively affect ecosystem services. Here, we investigate the effects of cattle-grazing intensification on dung removal by dung beetles in field experiments replicated in 38 pastures around the world.

In this study, a poly(-methyl aniline)-cerium oxide-functionalized MWCNTs (PNMA-CeO-fMWCNTs) composite was synthesized in a one-step preparation technique. As a highly efficient modifier, the composite was used to modify the glassy carbon electrode surface for simultaneous detection of uric acid (UA) and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Morphological characterization of the GCE/PNMA-CeO-fMWCNTs was studied using scanning electron microscopy.

Despite the discovery of numerous driving and passenger genes that play key roles in cancer characteristics, progress in cancer treatment has not been satisfactory. This is mainly because conventional therapies are neither selective nor targeted. Another important reason is that cancer cells rapidly develop resistance to chemotherapeutic agents due to excessive accumulation of mutations and/or epigenetic changes.

In this study we investigate the synergetic effects of combining surfactant-enhanced dissolution with in-situ oxidation of a pool-dominated PCE DNAPL source zone entrapped in porous media. Flow cell flushing experiments packed with silica sand and natural calcareous soil were conducted with a surfactant (Tween 80) and permanganate (MnO) used as dissolution and oxidation agents, respectively. The resultant breakthrough curves exhibited a multiple step behavior with mass removal controlled in the latter stages by the less-accessible DNAPL mass.
