A Case of Sarcoid Reaction in Subcarinal Lymph Node in A Postoperative Breast Cancer Diagnosed by Thoracoscopic Biopsy.

Lymph node recurrence is common in patients with breast cancer, and breast surgeons often diagnose it based solely on computed tomography (CT) or fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography-computed tomography (FDG-PET/CT). In this case report, we present a patient with breast cancer having a false positive lymph node detected by FDG-PET/CT, which was later identified as a sarcoid reaction through thoracoscopic surgery. This pathological diagnosis allowed the patient to avoid unnecessary long-term cancer therapies, such as chemotherapy and hormone therapy.

CXCR4 Expression and Cancer-associated Fibroblasts May Play an Important Role in the Invasion of Low-grade Endometrioid Carcinoma.

Well-differentiated endometrioid carcinoma (EC) is a low-grade cancer with relatively indolent behavior. However, even with well-differentiated histology, it sometimes tends to invade extensively and shows metastatic potential, suggesting that this is a group of cancers with heterogeneous behavior. In contrast, due to its tendency for younger onset, the treatment strategy for EC frequently considers fertility preservation, highlighting the need for a more accurate evaluation of myometrial invasion through biopsy and imaging diagnostics.

Objectives: This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the Forgotten Joint Score-12 (FJS-12)-a measure of patients' ability to forget their joints in daily life-in patients who underwent total ankle replacement (TAR) or ankle arthrodesis (AA).

Methods: Patients who underwent TAR or AA were recruited from seven hospitals. The patients completed the Japanese version of FJS-12 twice, at an interval of two weeks, at a minimum of one year postoperatively.

Purpose: Treatment with an aromatase inhibitor for 5 years is the standard treatment for postmenopausal hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. We investigated the effects of extending this treatment to 10 years on disease-free survival (DFS).

Patients And Methods: This prospective, randomized, multicenter open-label phase III study assessed the effect of extending anastrozole treatment for an additional 5 years in postmenopausal patients who were disease-free after treatment with either 5 years of anastrozole alone or 2-3 years of tamoxifen followed by 2-3 years of anastrozole.

Adjuvant trastuzumab without chemotherapy for treating early HER2-positive breast cancer in older patients: A propensity score-adjusted analysis of a prospective cohort study.

Purpose: To gauge the effects of treatment practices on prognosis for older patients with HER2-positive early breast cancer, particularly to determine whether adjuvant trastuzumab alone can offer benefit over no adjuvant therapy. This is a prospective cohort study which accompanies the RESPECT that is a randomized-controlled trial (RCT).
