We evaluated the effects of the Gly-His-Lys-D-Ala peptide in a dose 0.5 μg/kg on skin wound regeneration in male Wistar rats (n=80) after initial surgical debridement when administered intracutaneously around the site of injury. Histological (severity of the inflammatory reaction, formation of granulation tissue, and epithelialization terms) and morphometric (number of fibroblastic cells, macrophages, granulocytes, and lymphocytes) studies were performed on autopsy specimens on days 3, 7, 10, and 30 of the experiment.

The 35th Brazilian Congress of Surgery marked a turning point for surgical education in the country. For the first time, the Brazilian College of Surgeons included Global Surgery on the main congressional agenda, providing a unique opportunity to rethink how surgical skills are taught from a public health perspective. This discussion prompts us to consider why and how Global Surgery education should be expanded in Brazil.

The authors present minimally invasive surgical treatment of recurrent liver abscess caused by migration of fish bone from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Two-stage treatment implied small-caliber transparietal drainage of abscess with evacuation of purulent detritus at the first stage. At the second stage, primary percutaneous approach was transformed into access of sufficient diameter for flexible or rigid optics for visually controlled bone extraction.

Background: We investigated how syndromic versus nonsyndromic forms of micrognathia impacted difficult intubation outcomes in children. Primary outcome was the first-attempt success rate of tracheal intubation, secondary outcomes were number of intubation attempts and complications. We hypothesized that syndromic micrognathia would be associated with lower first-attempt success rate.

Inadequate treatment of nonspecific back pain, even with a relatively favorable prognosis, leads to its chronicity and decreases the patient's quality of life. The most common cause of vertebrogenic dorsopathies is spinal osteochondrosis.

Aim: To study the efficiency of pre-administration of a peptide mimicking the spatial structure of erythropoietin -chain B in modeling experimental post-contrast acute kidney injury.
Materials And Methods: In this study, an experimental model of post-contrast acute kidney injury was created using a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, a nitric oxide synthase inhibitor, and injection of iopromide to mature male mice. After 48 hours, a comprehensive assessment of the concentration of creatinine, urea, glomerular filtration rate, the ratio of urea/albumin in the serum, as well as the level of proteinuria and interleukin 6 in the urine was carried out.

This review is focused on synephrine, the principal phytochemical found in bitter orange and other medicinal plants and widely used as a dietary supplement for weight loss/body fat reduction. We examine different aspects of synephrine biology, delving into its established and potential molecular targets, as well as its mechanisms of action. We present an overview of the origin, chemical composition, receptors, and pharmacological properties of synephrine, including its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer activity in various in vitro and animal models.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has demonstrated significant promise for the present and future diagnosis of diseases. At the moment, AI-powered diagnostic technologies can help physicians decipher medical pictures like X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging, and computed tomography scans, resulting in quicker and more precise diagnoses. In order to make a prospective diagnosis, AI algorithms may also examine patient information, symptoms, and medical background.

We studied the reparative and antioxidant effects of Thymogen and its new structural analogues obtained by binding amino acid D-Ala to the N- or C-end of the peptide molecule in acute toxic hepatopathy. Intragastric administration of carbon tetrachloride for 5 days caused the development of fat degeneration of hepatocytes, a decrease in catalase activity, and an increase in malondialdehyde concentration. Administration of peptides suppressed oxidative peroxidation and stimulated reparative regeneration of hepatocytes; Thymogen analogues produced more pronounced hepatotropic and antioxidant effects than Thymogen.

In the ongoing search for practical uses of rare-earth metal nanoparticles, cerium dioxide nanoparticles (nanoceria) have received special attention. The purpose of this research was to study the biomedical effects of nanocrystalline forms of cerium oxide obtained by different synthesis schemes and to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of nanoceria (from 10 to 10 M) on cells involved in the regeneration of skin cell structures such as fibroblasts, mesenchymal stem cells, and keratinocytes. Two different methods of nanoceria preparation were investigated: (1) CeO-NPs-1 by precipitation from aqueous solutions of cerium (III) nitrate hexahydrate and citric acid and (2) CeO-NPs-2 by hydrolysis of ammonium hexanitratocerate (IV) under conditions of thermal autoclaving.

Our review seeks to elucidate the current state-of-the-art in studies of 70-kilodalton-weighed heat shock proteins (Hsp70) in neurodegenerative diseases (NDs). The family has already been shown to play a crucial role in pathological aggregation for a wide spectrum of brain pathologies. However, a slender boundary between a big body of fundamental data and its implementation has only recently been crossed.

The article is devoted to the analysis of modern approaches to the problem of the health of foreign students who are educational migrants and need medical care, taking into account their current social status and status in the territory of the Russian Federation. The undermining of health, significant psycho-emotional tension and, in general, worries about maintaining health can affect the learning process, therefore it is necessary to determine in whose area of responsibility the health of educational migrants is: whether they themselves are obliged to monitor their condition and organize medical care, whether the university should participate in the organization of medical commissions and examinations, or diasporas, whose members are often foreign students, may have these powers.

Sudden cardiac death (SCD) is a condition that accounts for a high percentage of cardiovascular fatalities, with ventricular tachyarrhythmias being the most common cause. There are signs and symptoms of SCD that occur spontaneously without any warning and are deadly. Despite preventative efforts focusing on the use of subcutaneous implanted cardioverter defibrillators (S-ICD) in the highest-risk population categories, a high number of SCDs occur in the normal population and in people who do not have a documented cardiac condition.
