Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) play an important role in the inflammatory response and progressive joint destruction in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Rhaponticin (Rha) is a stilbene glycoside compound with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic potential of Rha in RA, with a specific focus on its effects on NETs and on the underlying mechanisms of Rha.

The aging of pancreatic beta cells is closely associated with various diseases, such as impaired glucose tolerance, yet the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we screened young and aged mouse pancreatic beta cells' high-throughput sequencing data from the GEO public database. Utilizing bioinformatics techniques, we identified the key regulatory factor YY1 in the aging process of pancreatic islets.

Tanshinone I (Tan I) has been proven to exert an anti-inflammatory effect, but the complete mechanism remains unclear. In this study, Tan I was described to have no effect on Syk expression in resting or LPS-stimulated macrophages ex vivo, but dramatically suppressed Syk phosphorylation and CD80, CD86, and IL-1β expression of macrophages. The inflammatory activity of macrophages in ApoC3-transgenic (ApoC3) mice is upregulated by Syk activation.

Introduction: Tobacco smoking is a major risk factor for various diseases worldwide, including pancreatic exocrine diseases such as pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer (PC). Currently, few studies have examined the impact of smoking cessation on the likelihood of common pancreatic exocrine diseases. This study sought to determine whether smoking cessation would reduce pancreatitis and PC morbidity.

Isoliquiritigenin (ISL) is a chalcone-type flavonoid derived from the root of licorice with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumour and neuroprotective properties. ISL has been proven to downregulate the productions of IL-1β, TNF-α and IL-6 by macrophages. However, detailed molecular mechanisms of this modulation remain elusive.

Introduction: To investigate whether increased intrapancreatic fat deposition (IPFD) heightens the risk of diseases of the exocrine and endocrine pancreas.
Methods: A prospective cohort study was conducted using data from the UK Biobank. IPFD was quantified using MRI and a deep learning-based framework called nnUNet.

Background & Aims: Linked color imaging (LCI) is a novel technology that improves the color differences between colorectal lesions and the surrounding mucosa. The present study aims to compare the detection of colorectal sessile serrated lesions (SSL) using LCI with white light imaging (WLI).
Method: A large-scale, multicenter, parallel prospective randomized controlled trial was conducted in 4 hospitals in China.
