The presence of abundant hydroxyl groups on the surface of AlO can promote the dispersion of Ni species but produce an inactive NiAlO phase at high temperatures. Moreover, the catalysts prepared by the conventional incipient wetness impregnation method lack the sites for the activation of CO, which leads to coke deposition and thus affects the catalyst activity. The above restricts the utilization of Ni in conventional Ni/AlO catalysts.

The purification and removal of organic sulfur from natural gas is conducive to increasing the added value of natural gas and reducing environmental pollution. In this study, the adsorption properties of methyl mercaptan (CHSH), dimethyl sulfide (CHS) and HO on the surface of hydroxyl-modified ZrO were investigated using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Additionally, a reaction mechanism was proposed for hydroxyl-modified ZrO catalyzing the hydrolysis of CHSH and CHS.

A pharmacophore-hybridized strategy based on previously reported HSP90 C-terminal inhibitors was utilized to prepare 32 aryl/penta-1,4-dien-3-one/amine hybrids. Among them, a silicon-containing compound 1z exhibited remarkable broad-spectrum antiproliferative effects on various human breast cancer cell lines. Through fluorescence polarization and AlphaScreen-based assays, we demonstrated that 1z specifically inhibited the HSP90 C-terminus without affecting HSP90 N-terminus.

Acetylene hydrogenation is a well-accepted solution to reduce by-products in the ethylene production process, while one of the key technical difficulties lies in developing a catalyst that can provide highly dispersed active sites. In this work, a highly crystalline layered covalent organic framework (COF) material (TbBpy) with excellent thermal stability was synthesized and firstly applied as support for ultrasmall Pd nanoparticles to catalyze acetylene hydrogenation. 100% of CH conversion and 88.

We present a novel method for preparing water-dispersed monolayer layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanosheets (m-LDH). By intercalating styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer (SMA) into LDH, we obtained m-LDH through a simple aging step that produced stable, translucent colloidal solutions. After drying, the resulting powder can be redispersed in water to recover the m-LDH monolayer structure.

In order to reduce the contact and mass transfer impedance of the diffusion layer and current collector of a Micro Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (μDMFC), a novel Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) structure is designed by using Foam Stainless Steel (FSS) with a slotting rate of 38.47% for both the cathode diffusion layer and the current collector. Electrochemical tests are performed on the Foam Stainless Steel Membrane Electrode Assembly (FSS-MEA) and the Conventional Carbon Paper Membrane Electrode Assembly (CCP-MEA) μDMFCs.

The rapid and onsite detection of glyphosate in tobacco products is still a great challenge. In this study, a novel smartphone-assisted sensing platform for the detection of glyphosate has been successfully proposed through the peroxidase-like activity of FeO-based nanozyme. Heptanoic acid/Prussian blue (PB) decorated FeO nanoparticles (FeO@C/PB) could catalyze and oxidize 2,2'-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS, colorless) into a steel blue colored product in the presence of hydrogen peroxide.

In this work, industrial biomass power plant ash was used to synthesize the ZSM-5 zeolites for the first time with the original intention to turn value-added material into wealth, and then committed to adsorption performance testing. Typical chemical structure and morphology of ZSM-5 zeolite were identified by comprehensive technologies. Uniquely, it was found that there was a low pressure hysteresis loop which was caused by crossed 10-membered rings in the N adsorption-desorption isotherm.

Key Laboratory of Grain and Oil Processing and Food Safety of Sichuan Province, College of Food and Bioengineering, Xihua University Chengdu 610039 China

In order to understand their impacts on the preservation of fresh garlic, varying concentrations of ozone gas and different storage temperatures were tested for this experiment. The results demonstrated that freshly peeled garlic was best preserved by an ozone concentration of 5 ppm and storage at 4 °C compared to other treatment groups. With these optimized conditions, after 25 days of storage, the weight of garlic decreased by only 1.

Micro Direct Methanol Fuel Cells (μDMFCs) often have application in moveable power due to their green and portable nature. In a μDMFC's structure, a current collector of the μDMFC needs to have high corrosion resistance such that the μDMFC can work for a long time in a redox reaction and respond to variable environmental conditions. To this end, four cathode current collectors were prepared.

  • The study cloned the PnbHLH gene from Panax notoginseng, creating an overexpression vector to investigate its role in regulating saponin biosynthesis.
  • By combining PnbHLH overexpression with RNA interference (RNAi) of the PnCAS gene, researchers explored how this synergy affects the production of phytosterols and overall saponin levels in P. notoginseng cells.
  • Results indicated that PnbHLH not only interacted with promoters of key genes involved in saponin biosynthesis but also led to increased levels of total and specific monomeric saponins compared to wild-type cells, highlighting an effective regulatory approach.
