State-of-the-art polypyrrole nanofiber-based nanoarchitectonics can be generally fabricated by electrospinning, interfacial polymerization and reactive template methods. Even though analogous nanofiber morphologies and nanofibrous network architectures can be obtained by these methods, the structural details and structural complexities may alter significantly as different synthesis methods are applied. For the electrospinning technique, on one hand, nanofibers can be directly obtained by spinning polypyrrole-containing dope solutions; on the other, the electrospun nanofiber mats can be used as templates to direct the nanofiber formation; a two-step fabrication process, including the electrospinning of polymer nanofiber mats and deposition of polypyrrole on the polymer nanofibers' surface, is generally employed.

By intercalating styrene-maleic anhydride copolymer (SMA) into LDH, we obtained m-LDH through a simple aging step that produced stable, translucent colloidal solutions. The GO- and SBA-15-modified UiO-66 adsorbents were developed for removal of trace Cr(vi) from wastewater and investigated to understand the effect of different hybrid ways on the absorption activity and reaction mechanism. The characterization results confirmed that the UiO-66 nanoparticles could be encapsulated by the SBA-15 matrix and anchored onto GO layers. Due to different exposure modes, the adsorption results showed that the GO-modified UiO-66 had better Cr(vi) trapping performance with the maximum removal efficiency of 97% within 3 min, presenting one of the most efficient Cr(vi) removal materials.

The construction of an BP/RP heterojunction can achieve perfect interface contact between different semiconductors and effectively promote the separation of photogenerated carriers. In this study, the indirect/direct optical band gaps and spectroscopy properties of Bi /Eu /Yb co-doped ( = 0, 2, 3; and = 2, 3) zinc calcium silicate glasses under different excitation wavelengths were investigated. Zinc calcium silicate glasses with the main compositions of SiO-ZnO-CaF-LaF-TiO were prepared by the conventional melting method. This study portrays a facile wet-chemical synthesis of FeSe/TiO nanocomposites for the first time for advanced asymmetric supercapacitor (SC) energy storage applications. Two different composites were prepared with varying ratios of TiO (90 and 60%, symbolized as KT-1 and KT-2) and their electrochemical properties were investigated to obtain an optimized performance. The electrochemical properties showed excellent energy storage performance owing to faradaic redox reactions from Fe/Fe while TiO due to Ti/Ti with high reversibility.

The accumulation of heavy metals in soil and crops is considered to be a severe environmental problem due to its various harmful effects on animals and plants. Soil adsorption is an essential characteristic of mud, which is the fundamental reason for soil to have a specific self-purification capacity and environmental capacity for heavy metals. To explore the mechanism of low-temperature carbon monoxide and ammonia (CO + NH) coupling denitration of manganese/activated carbon (Mn/AC) catalysts, Mn/AC series catalysts were prepared using the impregnation method with AC activated by nitric acid as a precursor and manganese nitrate as a precursor. We characterized the surface morphology, pore structure, active component phase, functional group, and active component valence change law of the Mn/AC catalyst. The denitration rate order with different Mn loadings is 7Mn/AC > 9Mn/AC > 5Mn/AC.

The recycling of aluminum is commonly an important step to achieve the high value-added utilization of fly ash, which is a kind of solid waste generated from coal-fired power plants. In this study, high-alumina fly ash was efficiently activated by ammonium sulfate method and the alumina was efficiently extracted. The effects of roasting temperature, roasting time, and ammonium sulfate/high-alumina fly ash mass ratio on the leaching rate of alumina were fully analyzed, and the roasting kinetics and reaction mechanism in the roasting process were discussed.

Mg-Li alloy is a material with great potential for development but its application in multiple fields is limited due to disadvantages, such as low strength and poor molding properties. In this study, Mg-8Li-2Y-Zn/Al multilayered composites were prepared by the Al layer cladding Mg-Li alloys using a cross asynchronous accumulative roll banding (CAARB) method, and the changes in microstructural characterization, mechanical properties, and electrical conductivity after rolling were evaluated. The results showed that the asynchronous rolling introduced additional shear variables, which provided the conditions for the aluminum layers to fracture to form wave patterns and improve the formability of the composites.

In order to reduce the contact and mass transfer impedance of the diffusion layer and current collector of a Micro Direct Methanol Fuel Cell (μDMFC), a novel Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA) structure is designed by using Foam Stainless Steel (FSS) with a slotting rate of 38.47% for both the cathode diffusion layer and the current collector. Electrochemical tests are performed on the Foam Stainless Steel Membrane Electrode Assembly (FSS-MEA) and the Conventional Carbon Paper Membrane Electrode Assembly (CCP-MEA) μDMFCs.
