Coronary atherosclerosis (or coronary heart disease [CHD]) is a common cardiovascular disease that seriously damages human health. Percutaneous coronary stent implantation represents the primary treatment option for severe CHD in clinical practice; meanwhile, dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is widely used to reduce the risk of postoperative thrombosis. Although the mechanisms of action of the two most commonly used antiplatelet drugs, aspirin and clopidogrel, remain unclear, clinical studies have shown that some patients are susceptible to stent thrombosis-antiplatelet resistance (high on-treatment platelet reactivity [HTPR])-despite using these drugs.

Digestive Endoscopy Center, Department of Spleen and Gastroenterology, Yunnan Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kunming, 650021, People's Republic of China.

Globally, wound care has become a significant burden on public health, with annual medical costs reaching billions of dollars, particularly for the long-term treatment of chronic wounds. Traditional treatments, such as gauze and bandages, often fail to provide an ideal healing environment due to their lack of effective biological activity. Consequently, researchers have increasingly focused on developing new dressings.

Article Synopsis
  • Glucocorticoid-induced adrenal insufficiency (GIAI) can lead to adrenal crisis (AC), which increases mortality risk; this study focuses on the characteristics and risk factors of GIAI patients experiencing AC.
  • Clinical data from GIAI patients treated over a decade revealed that 13.75% experienced AC during hospitalization, with associated higher mortality rates.
  • Analysis identified infection, psychiatric symptoms, certain lab values, and ratios of neutrophils to lymphocytes (NLR) and eosinophils to lymphocytes (ELR) as independent risk factors for AC, with logistic regression models offering the best predictive accuracy for these patients.

Current antiepileptic drugs are ineffective in one-third of patients with epilepsy; however, identification of genes involved in epilepsy can enable a precision medicine approach. Here, it is demonstrated that downregulating D-2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase (D2HGDH) enhances susceptibility to epilepsy. Furthermore, its potential involvement in the seizure network through synaptic function modulation is investigated.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) seriously threatens women's health, and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are emerging as critical regulators of gene expression and play fundamental roles in TNBC. This study aimed to identify lncRNAs that represent effective targets for the early diagnosis or treatment of TNBC. Here, we utilized the TCGA database to analyze differentially expressed genes, and survival analysis and ROC curve analysis were also performed.
