Department of Normal Physiology, Kuban State Medical University, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Krasnodar, Russia.

Molecular genetic analysis of polymorphic variants of serotonin receptor genes (HTR2C and HTR2A) was performed in 89 healthy medical students and regulatory and adaptive capacities were determined by cardiorespiratory synchronism. The relationship of serotonin receptor gene polymorphisms and the regulatory and adaptive capabilities of the body were revealed. The highly active *G allele and *G/*G genotype of the serotonin receptor HTR2C gene and the heterozygous *A/*G genotype of the serotonin receptor HTR2A gene are associated with "good" regulatory and adaptive capacities.

The gene pool of the East Caucasus, encompassing modern-day Azerbaijan and Dagestan populations, was studied alongside adjacent populations using 83 Y-chromosome SNP markers. The analysis of genetic distances among 18 populations ( = 2216) representing Nakh-Dagestani, Altaic, and Indo-European language families revealed the presence of three components (Steppe, Iranian, and Dagestani) that emerged in different historical periods. The Steppe component occurs only in Karanogais, indicating a recent medieval migration of Turkic-speaking nomads from the Eurasian steppe.

The article considers theoretical approaches to determining the essence and characteristics of the organization of entrepreneurial activity in the field of public health. The emphasis is on innovative entrepreneurship, which involves entering new, often unknown or untested markets, which are characterized by high uncertainty. Innovation-driven entrepreneurship does not necessarily require new high-tech advances - rather, it is a new recombination that creates a new way of doing a certain set of activities.

Background: Health outcomes among children born prematurely are known to be sexually dimorphic, with male infants often more affected, yet the mechanism behind this observation is not clear. CpG methylation levels in the placenta and blood also differ by sex and are associated with adverse health outcomes. We contrasted CpG methylation levels in the placenta and neonatal blood (n = 358) from the Extremely Low Gestational Age Newborn (ELGAN) cohort based on the EPIC array, which assays over 850,000 CpG sites across the epigenome.

The influence of a single H/H replacement on the frequency generation of different-size bubbles in the human interferon alpha-17 gene (IFNA17) under various energies was studied by a developed algorithm and mathematical modeling without simplifications or averaging. This new approach showed the efficacy of researching DNA bubbles and open states both when all hydrogen bonds in nitrogenous base pairs are protium and after an H-substitution. After a single deuterium substitution under specific energies, it was demonstrated that the non-coding region of IFNA17 had a more significant regulatory role in bubble generation in the whole gene than the promoter had.

Objective: To examine the additive or moderating influences of caregiver COVID-19-related stress, social support, and discrimination on children's behavior problems across racially diverse populations.

Method: In this Environmental influences on Child Health Outcomes (ECHO) cohort study (N = 1,999 caregiver/child pairs), we operationalized caregiver COVID-19-related stress in 2 ways: first, as the number of stressors (eg, financial concerns, social distancing); and second, as the level of pandemic-related traumatic stress symptoms reported via questionnaires administered between April 2020 and August 2022. At the same assessment visit, caregivers also reported their current levels of discrimination, and a subsample (n = 968) reported their emotional and instrumental support.

Introduction: The tactics of treating patients with retraction pockets of the tympanic membrane is still debatable. When choosing surgical treatment, preference is given to the removal of the retraction pocket with simultaneous reconstruction of the posterior-upper wall of the external auditory canal (retraction area) with a cartilage or fascial flap, autologous bone, or a combination of the above tissues. Considering the well-known negative aspects of the use of all the mentioned grafts, there is a need to find new types of tissues to strengthen the retraction pocket.
