Background: Our aim was to report the long-term clinical and imaging outcomes of ≤15-year-old children treated for ruptured or symptomatic cerebral aneurysms and to identify prognostic factors for clinical outcome, recurrence, and rebleeding.
Methods: We retrospectively identified all pediatric cases of cerebral aneurysm from 2000 to 2015 and then prospectively evaluated long-term occlusion using brain MRI and clinical outcome measures: outcome was considered favorable if King's Outcome Scale for Childhood Head Injury score was ≥5. We performed univariate analysis and logistic binary regression to identify variables associated with clinical and imaging outcomes.

Importance: In children with sickle cell anemia (SCA), high transcranial Doppler (TCD) velocities are associated with stroke risk, which is reduced by chronic transfusion. Whether matched sibling donor hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (MSD-HSCT) can reduce velocities in patients with SCA is unknown.
Objective: To determine the association of MSD-HSCT with TCD velocities as a surrogate for the occurrence of ischemic stroke in children with SCA.

Background: Hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) is a multisystemic disease involving mainly the peripheral nervous system and the heart. Liver transplantation (LT) is the reference treatment for ATTR neuropathy and preoperative detection of high risk patients is crucial. We aimed to document the causes of death of ATTR patients after LT, their temporal trends, and to evaluate whether the available preoperative tools that predict the risk of death after LT for hereditary ATTR amyloidosis matched with these trends.

An important goal for personalized treatment is predicting response to a particular therapeutic. A drawback of biological treatment is immunogenicity and the development of antibodies directed against the drug [anti-drug antibodies (ADA)], which are associated with a poorer clinical outcome. Here we set out to identify a predictive biomarker that discriminates rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients who are more likely to develop ADA in response to adalimumab, a human monoclonal antibody against tumor necrosis factor (TNF)α.

Immune checkpoint inhibitors targeting cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein-4 (CTLA-4) and programmed death-1 (PD-1)/ligand are increasingly used to treat several types of cancer. These drugs enhance antitumour T-cell activity and therefore induce immune-related adverse effects (irAE), of which gastrointestinal (GI) irAE are among the most frequent and severe. This systematic literature review summarises the clinical manifestations, management and pathophysiology of GI irAE due to immune checkpoint inhibitors.
