Background: Up to 65% of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) who are treated with imatinib do not achieve sustained deep molecular response, which is required to attempt treatment-free remission. Asciminib is the only approved BCR::ABL1 inhibitor that Specifically Targets the ABL Myristoyl Pocket. This unique mechanism of action allows asciminib to be combined with adenosine triphosphate-competitive tyrosine kinase inhibitors to prevent resistance and enhance efficacy.

The synthesis of nanoporous two-dimensional (2D) materials has revolutionized fields such as membrane separations, DNA sequencing, and osmotic power harvesting. Nanopores in 2D materials significantly modulate their optoelectronic, magnetic, and barrier properties. However, the large number of possible nanopore isomers makes their study onerous, while the lack of machine-learnable representations stymies progress toward structure-property relationships.

A complex interplay between various processes underlies the neuropathology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and its progressive course. Several lines of evidence point to the coupling between Aβ aggregation and neuroinflammation and its role in maintaining brain homeostasis during the long prodromal phase of AD. Little is however known about how this protective mechanism fails and as a result, an irreversible and progressive transition to clinical AD occurs.

Despite the worldwide burden of mental illness and recent interest in global approaches to address this, progress on increasing awareness, lessening stigma, reducing the treatment gap, and improving research and training in mental health has been slow. In 2018, the North East England South Asia Mental health Alliance (NEESAMA) was developed as a collaboration between high-income (global north) and low- to middle-income (global south) countries to address this slow progress. This paper outlines how the joint priority areas for research, training and service delivery were identified across the life course (child and adolescent, adults and older people) between partner organisations spanning Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and the UK.

It is well-known that the potency of a drug is heavily associated with its kinetic and thermodynamic properties with the target. Nuclear receptors (NRs), as an important target family, play important roles in regulating a variety of physiological processes . However, it is hard to understand the drug-NR interaction process because of the closed structure of the ligand-binding domain (LBD) of the NR proteins, which apparently hinders the rational design of drugs with controllable kinetic properties.

The study of color patterns in the animal integument is a fundamental question in biology, with many lepidopteran species being exemplary models in this endeavor due to their relative simplicity and elegance. While significant advances have been made in unraveling the cellular and molecular basis of lepidopteran pigmentary coloration, the morphogenesis of wing scale nanostructures involved in structural color production is not well understood. Contemporary research on this topic largely focuses on a few nymphalid model taxa (e.

This paper is a study of the intersection between aviation and diplomacy in the semi-autonomous Indian state of Jodhpur in the final decades of British colonial rule in India. Jodhpur's Maharaja Umaid Singh established a major international aerodrome, patronized one of India's first flying clubs and collaborated with British authorities to make aviation laws for the Indian states. He would also serve in the Royal Air Force during the war and placed Jodhpur state's aviation resources at the disposal of the king-emperor.

There has been an unprecedented increase in global demand for medical oxygen equipment to solve the acute oxygen shortages caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection. The study aims to assess the value of improved access and use of Oxygen Concentrators (OCs) and cylinders during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. This evaluation is relevant to strengthening health systems in many resource-constrained Low- and Middle-Income Country (LMIC) settings.

Background: Active upper extremity (UE) assistive devices have the potential to restore independent functional movement in individuals with UE impairment due to neuromuscular diseases or injury-induced chronic weakness. Academically fabricated UE assistive devices are not usually optimized for activities of daily living (ADLs), whereas commercially available alternatives tend to lack flexibility in control and activation methods. Both options are typically difficult to don and doff and may be uncomfortable for extensive daily use due to their lack of personalization.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is associated with an increased risk of long-lasting health-related complications. Survivors of brain trauma often experience comorbidities which could further dampen functional recovery and severely interfere with their day-to-day functioning after injury. Of the three TBI severity types, mild TBI constitutes a significant proportion of total TBI cases, yet a comprehensive study on medical and psychiatric complications experienced by mild TBI subjects at a particular time point is missing in the field.

Chirality is a very important characteristic of optically active molecules and polyaromatics with helical structures, and plays a vital role in various applications in material science. In the present work, we show the effects of fluorine substitution at various positions in a figure-8-shaped [5]helicene dimer on the ground and excited state g-factors. Calculations for the ground and excited states are performed at the MP2 and ADC(2) levels of theory, respectively.

Most materials exhibit creep memory under the action of a constant load. The memory behavior is governed by Andrade's creep law, which also has an inherent connection with the Omori-Utsu law of earthquake aftershocks. Both empirical laws lack a deterministic interpretation.

Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) caused by physical impact to the brain can adversely impact the welfare and well-being of the affected individuals. One of the leading causes of mortality and dysfunction in the world, TBI is a major public health problem facing the human community. Drugs that target GABAergic neurotransmission are commonly used for sedation in clinical TBI yet their potential to cause neuroprotection is unclear.

Synthetic methods to control the structure of materials at sub-micron scales are typically based on the self-assembly of structural building blocks with precise size and morphology. On the other hand, many living systems can generate structure across a broad range of length scales in one step directly from macromolecules, using phase separation. Here, we introduce and control structure at the nano- and microscales through polymerization in the solid state, which has the unusual capability of both triggering and arresting phase separation.
