Traction apophysitis of the fifth metatarsal base in a child: Iselin's disease.

Although Iselin's disease, apophysitis of the fifth metatarsal base, is not infrequent in clinical practice, it is accepted as a rare cause of lateral foot pain in young adolescents. Usually a simple clinical examination and radiographs are sufficient for diagnosis. We present a patient with Iselin's disease and discuss its clinical and radiographic characteristics, differential diagnosis, aetiopathogenesis and treatment.

A rare association of leiomyosarcoma with squamous cell carcinoma of the larynx: two cases.

Objective: To discuss the histopathogenesis and treatment choices for synchronous tumours of the larynx.

Case Reports: We present two cases of synchronous laryngeal leiomyosarcoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The first case was an early-stage tumour and the second an advanced-stage tumour of the larynx.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor is composed of myofibroblast and inflammatory cell infiltration of the tissue. Malign transformation and recurrence rate of this tumor is rare and accepted as benign fibroinflammatory disease. The main etiology is unclear, but infection, trauma, and immunologic event are accused.
