Postprandial hyperglycemia (PPG) exacerbates endothelial dysfunction and impairs vascular function in diabetes as well in healthy people. Though synthetic drugs are available to regulate PPG, the severe gastrointestinal side effects of those medications have prompted the search for alternative treatments.
