Abstract: This case report aims to demonstrate the potential feasibility and success of fertility-sparing surgery (FSS) coupled with adjuvant chemotherapy in treating advanced malignant ovarian germ cell tumor (MOGCT), focusing on pure dysgerminoma, fertility, and achieving spontaneous pregnancy. The patient was a 23-year-old female who initially presented with complaints of abdominal distension and a palpable mass and was subsequently diagnosed with advanced MOGCT.

Orofacial esthetics, chewing function, and oral health-related quality of life in Kennedy class I patients with mini-implant-retained removable partial dentures: A 3-year clinical prospective study.

Unlabelled: This prospective clinical study aimed to assess self-reported orofacial esthetics, chewing function, and oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) over three years in the Kennedy Class I patients without posterior dentition who received free-end saddle removable partial dentures (RPDs) retained by two mini dental implants (MDIs) inserted in the canine/first premolar region. The study's robust findings reaffirm the viability of MDI-retained RPDs as a treatment modality in contemporary prosthodontics, instilling confidence in the dental community.

Although extensive research has been conducted on dual career programs and services in developed countries, there is limited information available on the dual-career phenomenon in developing countries. This study aimed to explore the dual career experiences of university student-athletes in the Republic of Kosovo.

Unmet healthcare needs in Southeastern Europe: a systematic review.

Objectives: This study sought to systematically review the existing literature on self-reported unmet healthcare needs in Southeastern Europe.

Methods: A systematic literature review of quantitative evidence in English and Bulgarian was performed in July 2023 using the following databases: Medline, Embase and EconLit. Publications were only included if they used self-reported unmet healthcare needs as an indicator of access to healthcare, concerned people living in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia or Romania and if they were published after 2003.

Expression dynamics of adipokines during induced ovulation in the bovine follicles and early corpus luteum.

The study aimed to assess the local gene expression of adipokine members, namely vaspin, adiponectin, visfatin, resistin and their associated receptors - heat shock 70 protein 5 (HSPA5), adiponectin receptor 1 (AdipoR1) and adiponectin receptor 2 (AdipoR2) - in bovine follicles during the preovulatory period and early corpus luteum development. Follicles were collected before gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) treatment (0 h) and at 4, 10, 20, 25 and 60 h after GnRH application through transvaginal ovariectomy (n = 5 samples/group). SIRT-associated attenuation of cellular senescence in vascular wall.

This review focuses on the vital function that SIRT1 and other sirtuins play in promoting cellular senescence in vascular smooth muscle cells, which is a key element in the pathogenesis of vascular aging and associated cardiovascular diseases. Vascular aging is a gradual process caused by the accumulation of senescent cells, which results in increased vascular remodeling, stiffness, and diminished angiogenic ability. Such physiological alterations are characterized by a complex interplay of environmental and genetic variables, including oxidative stress and telomere attrition, which affect gene expression patterns and trigger cell growth arrest.

There is no effective therapy against the adverse effects of hyperoxia. Aims: This qualitative descriptive study provides insights into the experiences of quality coordinators (QCs) in primary healthcare to inform policy and practice actions and empower QCs to enhance healthcare quality.

Methods: We conducted focus group discussions with purposefully selected QCs to understand their motivations, job experiences, factors influencing healthcare quality, and suggestions for quality improvement. Content analysis and deductive coding were used to scrutinize the responses and answer the research questions.

The effects of different types of organisational workplace mental health interventions on mental health and wellbeing in healthcare workers: a systematic review.

Objective: To determine if and which types of organisational interventions conducted in small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) in healthcare are effective on mental health and wellbeing.

Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, we searched six scientific databases, assessed the methodological quality of eligible studies using QATQS and grouped them into six organisational intervention types for narrative synthesis. Only controlled studies with at least one follow-up were eligible.

Evaluation of oral health status in pregnant women and its correlation with calcium and phosphate levels.

This study aimed to analyze the oral health conditions of pregnant women. The analysis involves evaluating two key indices: the decayed, missing, and filled teeth (DMFT) index and the basic erosive wear examination (BEWE) index. Furthermore, this study investigated potential correlations between calcium (Ca) and phosphate (P) levels within specific time intervals and the aforementioned oral health indices.

The objective of this study was to describe the epidemiology of burn-related injuries in children <15 years in Kosovo, and compare incidence and cause of burns with our previous study conducted over the period 2005-2010 on children with burn injuries of the same age group. This was a retrospective study of pediatric patients (n=277) admitted to the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo between 1 January 2011 and 31 December 2015. We analyzed data on gender, age, cause, location, burn size (TBSA), depth of injury, seasonality, duration of hospitalization and treatment of burn-related injuries, collected from the medical records available in the archives of the University Clinical Centre of Pristina.

Design and synthesis of phenoxy methyl-oxadiazole compounds against Alzheimer's disease.

This study examines the synthesis and evaluation of 11 newly developed compounds as potential anti-Alzheimer's agents that occur via cholinesterase and β-secretase inhibition. The compounds were tested for their inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) using the modified Ellman method.
