Children face the excitement of a changing world but also encounter environmental threats to their health that were neither known nor suspected several decades ago. Children are at particular risk of exposure to pollutants that are widely dispersed in the air, water, and food. Children and adolescents are exposed to chemical, physical, and biological risks at home, in school, and elsewhere.

A new proposal of simplified classification of non-small cell lung cancer oligometastases for easy applicability through systematic literature analysis and meta-analysis validation.

Introduction: Oligometastasis (OM) exhibits wide range of prognosis, which necessitates appropriate classification for optimal therapeutic decision-making. Complementing the ESTRO-EORTC classification which lacked prognostic differentiation and was rather complex, we propose a new and simpler classification based on systematic literature analysis and meta-analysis validation.

Method: The databases were searched up to April 2024.

Background: Interest in the oligometastatic prostate cancer (OMPC) is increasing, and various clinical studies have reported the benefits of metastasis-directed radiation therapy (MDRT) in OMPC. However, the recognition regarding the adopted definitions, methodologies of assessment, and therapeutic approaches is diverse among radiation oncologists. This study aims to evaluate the level of agreement for issues in OMPC among radiation oncologists.

The Correlation between Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin and Clinical Characteristics According to Anti-Müllerian Hormone in Women with Regular Menstrual Cycles: A Prospective Study.

Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) can be diagnosed when the anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) levels are high, but in clinic, women who do not meet the diagnosis of PCOS but have elevated AMH levels are often seen. This study aimed to compare the differences in menstrual cycle patterns and hormone levels in women with regular menstrual cycles, but not PCOS, by dividing them into high and low AMH groups.

Material And Methods: This multicenter prospective study included 68 healthy women.

Purpose: Laparoscopic left lateral sectionectomy (L-LLS) stands as a cornerstone procedure in hepatobiliary minimal surgery, frequently employed for various benign and malignant liver lesions. This study aimed to analyze the peri- and postoperative surgical outcomes of single-port robotic left lateral sectionectomy (SPR-LLS) those of L-LLS in patients with hepatic tumors.

This study aimed to investigate whether immersive virtual reality (VR) education is effective in environmental control education for asthmatic children in Korea. Here, we investigated the relationship between fluid TIMP-3 levels and AD pathology.

The treatment of chronic Achilles tendonitis (AT) often requires prolonged therapy and invasive therapeutic methods such as surgery or therapeutic endoscopy. To prevent the progression of chronic AT, excessive inflammation must be alleviated at an early stage. Corticosteroids or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are generally prescribed to control inflammation; however, the high doses and long therapeutic periods required may lead to serious side effects.

Oncologic outcomes according to the level of disease burden in patients with metachronous distant metastases from uterine cervical cancer: a Korean Radiation Oncology Group study (KROG 18-10).

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the oncologic outcomes according to disease burden in uterine cervical cancer patients with metachronous distant metastases.

Methods: Between 2005 and 2015, 163 patients with metachronous distant metastases from uterine cervical cancer after receiving a definitive therapy were evaluated at seven institutions in Korea. Low metastatic burden was defined as less than 5 metastatic sites, whereas high metastatic burden was others.

Validation of a nomogram for predicting the risk of lymphedema following contemporary treatment for breast cancer: a large multi-institutional study (KROG 20-05).

Purpose: We previously constructed a nomogram for predicting the risk of arm lymphedema following contemporary breast cancer treatment. This nomogram should be validated in patients with different background characteristics before use. Therefore, we aimed to externally validate the nomogram in a large multi-institutional cohort.

Expert consensus on the combined investigation of carpal tunnel syndrome with electrodiagnostic tests and neuromuscular ultrasound.

Expert consensus was sought to guide clinicians on the use of electrodiagnostic tests (EDX) and neuromuscular ultrasound (NMUS) in the investigation of suspected carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Consensus was achieved using the Delphi method via three consecutive anonymised surveys of 15 experts and was defined as rating agreement ≥ 80%. The panel agreed that combining EDX and NMUS is more informative than using each modality alone.

Impact of acute kidney injury on long-term adverse outcomes in obstructive uropathy.

This study aimed to investigate the etiologies, clinical characteristics, consequences and also assess the impact of AKI on long-term outcomes. This multicenter, retrospective study of 1683 patients with obstructive uropathy who underwent percutaneous nephrostomy (PCN) analyzed clinical characteristics, outcomes including progression to end-stage kidney disease (ESKD), overall mortality, and the impact of AKI on long-term outcomes.
