Among the numerous residential appliances, window or split air conditioners are the most prevalent. The hydrochlorofluorocarbon and hydrofluorocarbon refrigerants used in those systems are causing a serious threat to the environment. In this study, R290-hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) mixtures are proposed as replacements for high-GWP substances (R410A and R22) in window air conditioning (WAC) units.

Basalt-based natural fiber hybrid composites with fillers are always the most anticipated composite material candidates for lightweight structural applications. Current work focusses on the preparation, characterization and testing of Basalt (B)/Hibiscus vitifolius (HV) based epoxy biocomposites with and without cashew nutshell fillers. Individual fiber reinforced composites (with 40 vol% of fibers) and hybrid composites (with 40 vol% of fibers in the ratio 1:1) filled with 10-30 vol% of fillers were manufactured using compression moulding techniques.

This paper explores the use of a ternary blended geopolymer concrete (TBGPC) incorporating metakaolin (MK), pond ash (PA), and Alccofine 1203 (AF). Three combinations of MK (25%, 50%, and 75%) with varying proportions of PA and AF were prepared, validating against M grade cement concrete (CC). TBGPC was prepared with an 8 molarity sodium hydroxide, sodium silicate to sodium hydroxide ratio of 2.

This study proposes a data-driven statistical model using multi sensor fusion and Kalman filtering for real-time water quality assessment in lakes. A recursive estimation technique, the Kalman Filter, is employed to handle uncertainties and enhance computational efficiency. The fusion process integrates data from sensors monitoring parameters like chlorophyll concentration, surface water elevation, temperature, and precipitation, producing Markov features to capture temporal transitions and environmental dynamics.
