Port-site incisional hernia (PIH) is an uncommon complication that can arise subsequent to a laparoscopic procedure, potentially leading to severe adverse effects such as intestinal obstruction. We currently present two cases of incarcerated hernia that occurred at an 8-mm trocar site after robot-assisted laparoscopic surgery (RALS). While occurrences of an 8-mm port-site incisional hernia are infrequent, it is imperative to note that most PIH cases are due to inadequate fascial closure of the port site.

Bouveret's syndrome is a rare condition caused by a gallstone that impacts the duodenum via a cholecystoduodenal fistula and obstructs the gastric outlet. Despite its high mortality rate, the treatment strategy for Bouveret's syndrome is debatable and frequently challenging. The main issue is whether cholecystectomy and fistula repair following stone extraction should be performed concurrently with one-stage surgery.

  • - Endovascular embolization is a common treatment for dural arteriovenous fistulas (dAVFs), but complications can arise during or after the procedure.
  • - In a rare case, an 83-year-old man experienced unexpected migration of a coil mass during treatment for a transverse-sigmoid sinus dAVF, which blocked venous circulation in the brain.
  • - The coil was successfully retrieved using a guidewire-assisted snaring technique, allowing the procedure to continue, resolve the dAVF, and prevent any further issues, with no recurrence after one year.

Aims: A considerable proportion of candidates for transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) have underlying heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), which can be challenging for diagnosis because significant valvular heart disease should be excluded before diagnosing HFpEF. This study investigated the long-term prognostic value of the pre-procedural HFPEF score in patients with preserved ejection fraction (EF) undergoing TAVI.

Methods And Results: Patients who underwent TAVI between October 2013 and May 2017 were enrolled from the Optimized CathEter vAlvular iNtervention-Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation Japanese multicentre registry.

Use long-term follow-up data from the IMPERIAL study to determine whether drug-eluting polymer-based nitinol stent treatment can delay the time to repeat intervention for femoropopliteal artery disease and how such a delay may result in cost savings in a value-based episode of care. The IMPERIAL randomized controlled trial was an international study of a paclitaxel-eluting polymer-coated stent (Eluvia, Boston Scientific, MA, USA) versus a polymer-free paclitaxel-coated stent (Zilver PTX, Cook Corporation, IN, USA) for treating lesions of the femoropopliteal arterial segment. Study patients (n = 465) had symptomatic lower limb ischemia.

Using theta burst stimulation (TBS) to induce neural plasticity has played an important role in improving the treatment of neurological disorders. However, the variability of TBS-induced synaptic plasticity in the primary motor cortex prevents its clinical application. Thus, factors associated with this variability should be explored to enable the creation of a predictive model.
