Tobacco, being a globally cultivated crop, holds significant social and economic importance. Tobacco plants are susceptible to the adverse effects of heavy metals (HMs), particularly cadmium (Cd), which hinders root development, disrupts water balance, and impedes nutrient absorption. Higher concentrations of HMs, especially Cd, naturally accumulate in tobacco leaves due to complex interactions within the plant-soil continuum.

Since corrosion causes significant harm to the environment and economy, sustainable corrosion inhibitors are essential. This study set out to examine Anti-corrosion ability of a number of closely related polycyclic compounds of flavone derivatives, namely 5,7-dimethoxyflavone (1), 4',5,7-trimethoxyflavone (2), 3',4',5'-trimethoxyflavone (3), 5-hydroxy-3,3',4',7-tetramethoxyflavone (4), tangeretin (5), 3,3',4',5,6,7,8-heptamethoxyflavone (6), 3',5,7-trihydroxy-4',5',6-trimethoxyflavone (7) and 3',4',5,7-tetrahydroxy-3,6,8-trimethoxyflavone (8), using the DFT/B3LYP/6-311 + + G(d, p) basis set. Monte Carlo simulations were used to reveal the adsorption of the investigated compounds on the Cu(111) surface.

The rapid increase in global waste, driven by population growth, has raised significant environmental concerns. Among different types of wastes, green biowastes (BWs) containing organic matter have attracted considerable attention. The conversion of BW, particularly from herbaceous and animal sources, to carbon-based materials (CBMs) introduces a suitable platform for waste management and resource recovery.

Potassium ions (K) perform a variety of functions in biological systems, including the regulation of blood pressure, enzyme activation, maintenance of muscular strength, regulation of extracellular osmolarity and facilitation of nerve transmission. Thus, a one-step hydrothermal-assisted method was used to prepare small-sized photoluminescent carbon dots (CDs) from Chocolate Brown HT food dye for the first time. The resulting CDs exhibited strong blue emission, with sizes ranging from 1.

The recent discovery of a new class of nanomaterials called nanozymes, which have the action of enzymes and are thus of tremendous significance, has altered our understanding of these previously believed to be biologically inert nanomaterials. As a significant and exciting class of synthetic enzymes, nanozymes have distinct advantages over natural enzymes. They are less expensive, more stable, and easier to work with and store, making them a viable substitute.

Introduction: Obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) is a long-term disorder characterized by frequent blockages in the upper respiratory tract during sleep, often leading to abrupt awakenings, with or without a decrease in oxygen levels. The systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to assess the effect of continuous positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP) on blood interleukin (IL) levels of IL-6, IL-10, IL-18, IL-1β, IL-4, and IL-17 in OSA adults.
Materials And Methods: The published databases from PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library were searched from 2003 to 2024, without any restrictions.

Corosolic acid (CA) is a well-known natural pentacyclic triterpene found in numerous therapeutic plants that can exhibit many bioactivities including anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor actions. The current investigation explores the chemoprotective roles of CA against azoxymethane (AOM)-induced colonic aberrant crypt foci (ACF) in rats. Thirty Sprague Dawley rats were grouped in 5 cages; Group A, normal control rats inoculated subcutaneously (sc) with two doses of normal saline and fed orally on 10% tween 20; Groups B-E received two doses (sc) of azoxymethane in two weeks and treated with either 10% tween 20 (group B) or two intraperitoneal injections of 35 mg/kg 5-fluorouracil each week for one month (group C), while group D and E treated with 30 and 60 mg/kg, respectively, for 2 months.

The significance of accurate energy production prediction cannot be overstated, especially in the context of achieving carbon neutrality and balancing traditional and clean energy sources. Unlike conventional models with simplified assumptions or limited data inputs hindering energy usage optimization, waste reduction and efficient resource allocation, we introduced a novel structural equation modelling approach to eight manufacturing industries' sustainable waste management practices (SWMPs) in Iraq. This comprehensive analysis, conducted with Smart PLS software on 375 responses aims to enhance energy production predictions' accuracy and support sustainability goals contribute to achieving carbon neutrality goals and promote a balanced energy mix that supports sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Carbon dots (CDs) are a novel category of carbon-based nanomaterials characterized by their small size, often less than 10 nm. CDs physical, chemical, and optical properties can be tuned using one-pot assembly. Because of their non-toxicity, biocompatibility, chemical and physical responsiveness, photo- and chemical-bleaching resistance, and low cost, nanoparticles have become incredibly versatile.
