There is a paucity of studies reporting the use of automated contouring function on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images acquired during image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) with offline adaptive radiotherapy for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). This case report discusses the use of an automated contouring function on CBCT images acquired during IGRT to quantify the dose distribution variations associated with tumor shrinkage in a patient with large NSCLC. A 72-year-old woman with locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the lung (T4N1M0; tumor diameter: 14 cm) underwent chemoradiotherapy.

Distributed energy resources (DERs) would play a crucial role in the transition towards decentralized and decarbonized energy systems. However, due to the limited availability of long-term, high-resolution datasets, there has been little research on the descriptive analysis of distributed energy systems throughout the lifespan of distributed power generators and beyond. To address this challenge, this study has collected and described a twenty-year dataset (from 2002 to 2021) consisting of hourly energy generation and consumption profiles from a campus distributed energy system, covering the entire lifespan of on-site generators.

Background: The factors contributing to the development of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) following infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) remain unclear. Although the presence of immune complexes (ICs), formed between antibodies and their antigens, has been linked to COVID-19 severity, their role requires further investigation, and the antigens within these ICs are yet to be characterized.
Method: Here, a C1q enzyme-liked immunosorbent assay and immune complexome analysis were used to determine IC concentrations and characterize IC antigens, respectively, in the sera of 64 unvaccinated COVID-19 patients with PCR-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection, enrolled at seven participating centers in 2020.

The transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) signaling pathway exerts a dual role in oncogenesis, acting as a suppressor in healthy and early stage neoplastic tissues while promoting malignancy and metastasis in advanced cancers. Tumor hemorrhage further exacerbates TGF-β-mediated metastasis by up-regulating its expression. Here, a coagulation-targeting peptide (A15)-decorated TGF-β inhibitor nanomedicine (A15-LY-NPs) was developed.

Disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) associated with hematologic malignancies, particularly acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), is characterized by marked fibrinolytic activation, which leads to severe bleeding complications. Therefore, appropriate diagnosis and management of DIC are crucial for preventing bleeding-related mortality. However, to date, no clinical guidelines have specifically addressed hematologic malignancy-associated DIC.
