With the growing threat of organic pollutants in water bodies, there is an urgent need for sustainable and efficient water decontamination methods. This research focused on synthesizing a novel Z-scheme ternary heterostructure composed of graphene oxide (GO)-mediated polyaniline (PANI) with α-FeO and investigated its potential in brilliant green (BrG) and ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation tests under visible light. The ternary composite demonstrated exceptional photocatalytic activity, with the optimized 10%PANI/GO/α-FeO (10PGF) photocatalyst achieving 99.

A serious challenge of the chronic administration of dexamethasone (DEX) is a delay in wound healing. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the potential of Tadalafil (TAD)-loaded proniosomal gel to accelerate the healing process of skin wounds in DEX-challenged rabbits. Skin wounds were induced in 48 rabbits of 4 groups (n = 12 per group) and skin wounds were treated by sterile saline (control), TAD-loaded proniosomal gel topically on skin wound, DEX-injected rabbits, and DEX+TAD-loaded proniosomal gel for 4 weeks.

In arid and semi-arid climates, native plants have developed unique strategies to survive challenging conditions. These adaptations often rely on molecular pathways that shape plant architecture to enhance their resilience. Date palms (Phoenix dactylifera) and mangroves (Avicennia marina) endure extreme heat and high salinity, yet the metabolic pathways underlying this resilience remain underexplored.

Efficacy of different adhesive systems in bonding direct resin composite restorations: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Evid Based Dent

January 2025

Department of Research Analytics, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Saveetha University, Chennai, India.

Objective: This study aimed to identify and evaluate scholarly research on the efficacy, durability, and long-term stability of various adhesive systems used for bonding direct resin composite restorations and to identify factors influencing bonding performance, such as adhesive composition, application protocol, substrate type, and etching technique.

Materials And Methods: An all-inclusive electronic database search for peer-reviewed scholarly journal articles was conducted using PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Dimensions, and the Cochrane Library for research articles investigating the effectiveness of different adhesive systems in direct resin composite restorations, excluding reviews, meta-analyses, opinion pieces, and case reports. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane tool (Robvis 2.

Using an acid to stimulate a heterogeneous carbonate reservoir during matrix acidizing may lead to over-treating the high permeability zones, leaving low permeability zones untreated. This is particularly exacerbated in long horizontal sections, necessitating the use of acid diverters for effective acid distribution across the formation. In previous studies, conventional core flooding systems were utilized where single inlet and outlet lines were used or, at best, two outlet lines for dual-core flooding.

The land use transition plays an important role for terrestrial environmental services, which had a mixed impact of positive and negative on the groundwater and terrestrial water resource. The health of ecological systems and groundwater depends on the mapping and management of land use. The Ganga basin is one of the most densely populated and agriculture-intensive river systems in the South Asia and the world.

A total of 384 animals (sheep, goat, cattle, and buffalo) were examined for the presence of hydatid cysts only in the lungs. The lung tissue samples associated with the hydatid cyst were collected immediately after slaughter, followed by fixation in 10% formalin. The fixed tissue was subjected to paraffin embedding technique.

Photovoltaic (PV) modules may encounter nonuniform situations that reduce their useable power volume, causing ineffective maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Moreover, due to the incorporation of bypass diodes, power-voltage (P-V) graph has multi-peaks when each component of the module receives different solar irradiation. This paper proposes a solution to this problem using an arithmetic optimization algorithm (AOA) for MPPT in PV systems operating in nonuniform situations.

Changing patterns of general practice services during a period of public sector investment in Britain.

PLoS One

January 2025

Centre for Public Health, School of Medicine, Dentistry and Biomedical Sciences, Queen's University Belfast, Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Introduction: Given the importance of GP care to the public's health, it is important that we understand how patterns of service use change as levels of investment change. This study investigated GP use in Britain in conjunction with use of outpatient services during a period of investment and during a period of austerity.

Method: The study used data from the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS) that included service use, morbidity (as an indicator of need) and socio-demographic characteristics (e.

Fault tolerance in distributed systems using deep learning approaches.

PLoS One

January 2025

Computer Science Department, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Jazan University, Jazan, Saudi Arabia.

Recently, distributed systems have become the backbone of technological development. It serves as the foundation for new trends technologies such as blockchain, the internet of things and others. A distributed system provides fault tolerance and decentralization, where a fault in any component does not result in a whole system failure.

This paper investigates enhancing the efficiency of solar water pumping systems (SWPS) by implementing a Maximum Power Point Tracking technique based on the Bat Metaheuristic Optimizer (MPPT-bat) for the photovoltaic generator (PVG) side, coupled with Direct Torque Control (DTC) for the induction motor powering the pump. Unlike traditional techniques, which make no compromise between tracking speed, oscillation and robustness. The integration of the MPPT-bat represents a significant advance, making it possible to improve PVG performance whatever the weather conditions.

This clinical consensus statement of the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions was developed in association with the European Society of Cardiology Working Group on Cardiovascular Surgery. It aims to define procedural and contemporary technical requirements that may improve the efficacy and safety of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), both in the acute phase and at long-term follow-up, in a high-risk cohort of patients on optimal medical therapy when clinical and anatomical high-risk criteria are present that entail unacceptable surgical risks, precluding the feasibility of coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). This document pertains to patients with surgical contraindication according to the Heart Team, in whom medical therapy has failed (e.
