Objective: The objective of our study was to document the feasibility of a novel endoscopic anterior cricoid split and rib grafting technique in a goat airway model.
Study Design: Feasibility pilot animal study.
Setting: Animal surgical laboratory at a tertiary hospital and research center.
Background: An accessible self-assessment questionnaire is needed to evaluate quality of life in olfactory dysfunction. The need to address this gap led to the development of the brief version of the Questionnaire of Olfactory Disorders (brief QOD), which holds particular value in the context of telemedicine.
Objectives: The aim of this study is to examine the reliability and validity of the Arabic brief QOD.

This study delves into the development, characterization, and application of modified mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) for targeted drug delivery in cancer therapy. MSNs were functionalized with poly(2-(diisopropylamino)ethyl methacrylate) (PDPA) and poly(glycidyl methacrylate) (PGMA), and further modified with cross-linkers DAE and Ornithine. Characterization using FT-IR, SEM, TEM, DLS, and XPS confirmed the successful surface modifications, revealing particle sizes primarily within the 63-94 nm range.

Background: A simple self-assessment screening questionnaire for olfactory dysfunction is direly needed in Rhinology practice, and this questionnaire should be accessible to affected individuals. The self-reported mini olfactory questionnaire (Self-MOQ), constructed to fill this gap, could be an important tool, especially in the era of telemedicine.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of the Arabic version of the self-reported mini olfactory questionnaire (Self-MOQ) in patients with olfactory dysfunction.

In the present report, the authors describe a synthetic route for the generation of -phenyl amino acid derivatives using CO a C-C coupling reaction in an undivided cell containing a combination of Mg-Pt electrodes. The reactions were completed in a short time without the formation of any other side product. The final products were purified a simple recrystallization procedure.

The liver function biomarkers are (glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), glutamate pyruvate transaminase (GPT), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), gamma-glutamyl transaminase (GGT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total bilirubin (T. BiLL)), whereas the kidney biomarkers are (creatinine, uric acid, urea, globulin, total protein (TP)), as well as blood parameters of (serum glucose (sGlu), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), protein Kinase-C (PKC)) and lipid profiles that include (total lipids (TL), triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density L-C (HDL-C), and very-low-density L-C (VLDL-C)).

A series of benzopyran-connected pyrimidine (1a-g) and benzopyran-connected pyrazole (2a-i) derivatives were synthesized Biginelli reaction using a green chemistry approach. Cu(ii)-tyrosinase was used as a catalyst in the synthesis of compounds 1a-g and 2a-i the Biginelli reaction. The as-synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, H NMR, C NMR, mass spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.

Chemical composition, antinutrients, extracted minerals, and the microbiological, physicochemical, functional, rheological, and pasting properties from the fermented flours were determined. Fermentation of both genotypes with higher levels of FBFPF starter enhanced protein, fiber, ash, and major mineral contents and extractability (≤0.

We sought to summarize the literature regarding the effects of statins on human AAA growth, rupture, and 30-day mortality. Methods and Results We conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized and observational studies using the Cochrane CENTRAL database, MEDLINE , and EMBASE up to June 15, 2018.

We sought to establish the rates of statin use in patients with carotid artery disease and to examine the association between statin therapy and outcomes after carotid revascularization. Methods and Results In this population-level retrospective cohort study, we identified all individuals aged ≥66 years who underwent carotid endarterectomy or stenting in Ontario, Canada (2002-2014).

The course of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-rearranged non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) therapy has improved impressively. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved crizotinib (Xalkori, Pfizer) as a first-in-class tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) that demonstrated a substantial objective response rate (ORR) and remarkable progression-free survival (PFS). However, acquired resistance to crizotinib is still a major concern especially as the central nervous system (CNS) remains the most common sites of relapse.

Objective: Chronic sinusitis is a very common yet poorly understood medical condition with significant morbidity. Hence, it remains an entity that is difficult to treat with unsatisfactory outcomes of current management options. This necessitates research into the etiology and pathophysiology of the condition to enhance our knowledge and the therapeutic options.

Genetic divergence of 26 populations, based on 710 bp of the mtCOI sequence, showed two phylogenetic lineages, which could not be connected in the haplotype network with 95% confidence. The two lineages are separated by 3.

Introduction: The aim of this in vitro study was to assess and compare the effect of different intermediary bases on microleakage between tooth and a nanocomposite interface in Class II box cavities in primary teeth.
Methods: Standard Class II box cavities were prepared in 52 primary molars and randomly divided into 9 groups according to the intermediary base used (Multicore Flow, Fuji II LC, SDR, Smart Dentin Replacement, and Biodentine). All specimens were subjected to thermocycling and prepared for microleakage testing and evaluation.
