Thiosemicarbazones of isatin have been found to exhibit versatile bioactivities. In this study, two distinct types of isatin-triazole hybrids 3a and 3b were accessed copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition reaction (CuAAC), together with their mono and bis-thiosemicarbazone derivatives 4a-h and 5a-h. In addition to the characterization by physical, spectral and analytical data, a DFT study was carried out to obtain the optimized geometries of all thiosemicarbazones.

Desvenlafaxine (DES) in conventional dosage forms shows initial burst release after oral administration, leading to exaggeration of its side effects. These side effects can be overcome by a sustained-release dosage form using the chemically inert, low-melting-point lipid Compritol 888 ATO, as it reduces initial burst release. The potential of DES-loaded solid lipid nanoparticles (DES-SLNs) synthesized by ultrasonication-assisted hot-melt encapsulation to modify the release of DES was investigated.

Introduction: Mass malaria vaccination, rather than vaccinating only children below age 5, has been proven to have the potential to reduce morbidity and mortality among those vaccinated, both young and old. Addressing vaccine scepticism and misinformation is crucial in African nations to build public trust in malaria prevention. Therefore, including a wider range of demographics in vaccine trials is necessary for equitable representation and achieving herd immunity against malaria.
