Hypertension occupies a unique position in public health care, because it is the major cause of cardiovascular disease and the most frequent non-communicable disorder seen in primary care globally. The prevalence, treatment, and control rates of hypertension vary greatly by ethnicity. Such disparities are mostly linked to genetic variances, although lifestyle and socioeconomic level may influence health behaviours such as food - both of which appear to be substantial factors.

Objective: The aim of the study was to estimate the delay in seeking treatment among women with carcinoma of breast and determine the factors associated with delay.
Methods: This was a hospital-based cross-sectional survey among 330 women attending the radiotherapy department of a tertiary care center in South India. Socio-clinical variables, duration of delay and reasons for the delay were collected by semi-structured interviews.
