Platinum nanoparticles are widely used in electrocatalysis and sensors. In this work, a novel modified carbon paste electrode based on PANI-TiO/Pt nanocomposites was developed electrochemically. To improve the performance of the PANI-TiO/Pt composite-modified electrode, a Taguchi orthogonal array was used for experimental design, and the best values of factors affecting the performance were determined using the technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) and Taguchi optimization methods.

This study aims to develop a simplified log creep model (LgCM) for predicting the triaxial three-stage creep behaviors of mélange rocks. The model was deduced from the creep deformation mechanism by considering the competition of strain rate hardening and damage during the steady and accelerating creep stages and was described by two simplified fractal functions. The model was then compared with the previous creep models on the uniaxial three-stage creep data of mortar, rock salt, and sandy shale, as well as the triaxial low-stress creep data of claystone.

Significance: The measurement of human vital signs based on photoplethysmography imaging (PPGI) can be severely affected by the interference of various factors in the measurement process; therefore, a lot of complex signal processing techniques are used to remove the influence of the interference.

Aim: We comprehensively analyze several methods for color channel combination in the color spaces currently used in PPGI and determine the combination method that can improve the quality of the pulse signal, which results in a modified plane-orthogonal-to-skin based method (POS).

Approach: Based on the analysis of the previous studies, 13 methods for color channel combination in the different color spaces, which can be seen as having potential abilities in measuring vital signs, were compared by employing the average value of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and the box-plot in the public databases UBFC-RPPG and PURE.

Decryption speed up of ElGamal with composite modulus.

Public key cryptosystems such as RSA, rebalanced RSA and ElGamal have the disadvantage of serious asymmetry between encryption and decryption speed. We reduced the CRT (Chinese Remainder Theorem) exponents maintaining full sized private exponent in ElGamal with composite modulus (CRT-ElGamal) for the fast decryption as in rebalanced RSA. In this case, unlike rebalanced RSA, decryption speed up can be obtained without losing of the fast encryption speed which is comparable to RSA with small public exponent.
