Diabetic Foot Syndrome (DFS) is the prime impetus for most of the lower extremity complications among the diabetic subjects. DFS is characterized by aberrant variations in plantar foot temperature distribution while healthy subjects exhibit a symmetric thermal pattern between the contralateral and ipsilateral plantar feet. Thus, "asymmetry analysis" of foot thermal distribution is contributory in assessment of overall foot health of diabetic subjects.

Background & Objectives: As India and other developing countries are scaling up isoniazid preventive therapy (IPT) for people living with HIV (PLHIV) in their national programmes, we studied the feasibility and performance of IPT in terms of treatment adherence, outcome and post-treatment effect when given under programmatic settings.
Methods: A multicentre, prospective pilot study was initiated among adults living with HIV on isoniazid 300 mg with pyridoxine 50 mg after ruling out active tuberculosis (TB). Symptom review and counselling were done monthly during IPT and for six-month post-IPT.
Background: Radiofrequency cathether ablation (RFCA) of Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) and typical atrial flutter (AF) is traditionally performed via femoral vein approach and all devices are designed to be delivered via inferior access. In rare cases of congenital or iatrogenic obstruction of inferior vena cava (IVC), RFCA of arrhythmias is performed via transhepatic approach.
Case Report: 87 year old male patient with history of IVC filter placement for recurrent deep venous thrombosis and AFib on amiodarone developed symptoms with worsening Afib burden resulting in deterioration of left ventricular ejection fraction.

Oropharyngeal candidiasis is one of the common manifestations seen in cancer patients on cytotoxic therapy and invasion into deeper tissues can occur if not treated promptly. Emergence of antifungal drug resistance is of serious concern owing to the associated morbidity and mortality. The present study aims at evaluation of clinicomycological association and antifungal drug susceptibility among the 180 recruited patients with cancer on chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy with signs or symptoms suggestive of oral candidiasis.

We retrospectively evaluated 398 patients presenting with MRSA bacteremia for the presence of the following clinical criteria: intravenous drug abuse (IVDA), long-term catheter, prolonged bacteremia, intra-cardiac device, prosthetic valve, hemodialysis dependency, vertebral/nonvertebral osteomyelitis, cardio-structural abnormality. IE was diagnosed using the modified Duke criteria.

"Overlap syndrome" is used to describe variant forms of autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) which present with characteristics of AIH and primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) or primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). Patients with overlap syndromes present with both hepatitic and cholestatic serum liver tests and have histological features of AIH and PBC or PSC. AIH-PBC is the most common form of overlap syndrome, affecting almost 10% of adults with AIH or PBC.

This study was intended to compare pulmonary function parameters in beedi smokers, cigarette smokers and subjects who smoked both beedi and cigarette on the basis of the dynamic ventilatory pulmonary function tests. The pulmonary function tests were done on 188 subjects which included, 48 beedi smokers, 48 cigarette smokers, 43 others who smoked both beedi as well as cigarette and 49 non-smokers (control). In beedi smokers the values of Forced Expiratory Volume in 1st second (FEV1), Peak Expiratory Flow Rate (PEFR), Forced Expiratory Flow (FEF) 25%-75%, FEV1/FVC%, BMI and weight were significantly lower (P < 0.
