Cytokines regulate immune responses essential for maintaining immune homeostasis, as deregulated cytokine signaling can lead to detrimental outcomes, including inflammatory disorders. The antioxidants emerge as promising therapeutic agents because they mitigate oxidative stress and modulate inflammatory pathways. Antioxidants can potentially ameliorate inflammation-related disorders by counteracting excessive cytokine-mediated inflammatory responses.

A newly categorized myokine called fractalkine (CX3CL1) has been associated with divergent conditions such as obesity, tissue inflammation, and exercise. CX3CL1 works through specific membrane-bound receptors (CX3CR1) found in various tissues including skeletal muscles. Studies indicate CX3CL1 induces muscles to uptake energy substrates thereby improving glucose utilization and countering diabetes.

Multi-system inflammatory syndrome in children associated with COVID19 (MIS-C) is a unique clinical syndrome characterised by fever, gastrointestinal symptoms, skin and oral rash and or neurological symptoms in the presence of raised acute phase reactants and coagulopathy. Ferritin is an acute phase reactant which is used as a marker of inflammation. Diagnosis of MIS-C in the background of transfusion dependent thalassemia with iron overload needs a strong clinical suspicion.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a grave public health concern and is considered the foremost contributor to human mortality resulting from infectious disease. Due to the stringent clonality and extremely restricted genomic diversity, conventional methods prove inefficient for in-depth exploration of minor genomic variations and the evolutionary dynamics operating in Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb) populations.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from bone progenitor cells are advantageous as cell-free and non-immunogenic cargo delivery vehicles. In this study, EVs are isolated from MC3T3-E1 cells before (GM-EVs) and after mineralization for 7 and 14 days (DM-EVs). It was observed that DM-EVs accelerate the process of differentiation in recipient cells more prominently.

Probiotics, like lactobacilli and bifidobacteria, benefit health by populating the digestive system, which houses numerous microbial species. Studies demonstrate their ability to inhibit biofilm formation, crucial in preventing oral conditions like dental caries. Our research evaluated a probiotic strain's anti-biofilm efficacy against oral pathogens in 45 individuals' saliva, alongside its biofilm-forming potential.

In this study, we report the cardioprotective effect of the glycerol monooleate (GMO) based nanocurcumin in both in vitro and in vivo conditions under a hyperthyroid state. The heart is one of the primary target organs sensitive to the action of thyroid hormone, and slight variations in the thyroid hormone serum concentrations result in measurable changes in cardiac performance. Hyperthyroidism-induced hypermetabolism is associated with oxidative stress and is an important mechanism responsible for the progression of heart failure.

Objectives: This study aimed to unravel the complexities of autoimmune diseases by conducting a comprehensive analysis of gene expression data across 10 conditions, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), psoriasis, Sjögren's syndrome, sclerosis, immune-associated diseases, osteoarthritis, cystic fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), type 1 diabetes, and Guillain-Barré syndrome.
Methods: Gene expression profiles were rigorously examined to identify both upregulated and downregulated genes specific to each autoimmune disease. The study employed visual representation techniques such as heatmaps, volcano plots, and contour-MA plots to provide an intuitive understanding of the complex gene expression patterns in these conditions.
