A Surgical Experience of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma Co-Existing with Post Burn Contractures of Neck.

A female patient in her early 60s was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of right buccal mucosa. Interestingly, the patient also presented with post-burn contractures of face, neck and chest which posed significant anaesthetic and surgical challenges, thus making this case report unique. Through this case report, we highlight the reflections in management of such a case.

A Study to Evaluate TIRADS Scoring in the Management of Thyroid Nodules.

Introduction: Thyroid nodules pose a frequent clinical dilemma, requiring the use of precise and expedient diagnostic methods. The effectiveness of the Thyroid Imaging Reporting and Data System (TIRADS) in relation to histopathology, which is considered the standard method, continues to be a prominent area of investigation. Background: After improvement in the treatment of oral cancers over the years we now see more patients with recurrent oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and second primary. Methods: In this retrospective study we included patients with recurrent and second primary OSCC who underwent surgery between January 2016 and December 2021.

Reproducibility assessment of WHO reporting system for pancreaticobiliary cytopathology: A single institution experience.

Background: The World Health Organization (WHO) reporting system for pancreaticobiliary cytopathology was released to internationalize the reporting, assisting in correct diagnosis and patient treatment with significant revisions from the previous Papanicolaou Society of Cytopathology (PSC) system. The "neoplastic: benign" and "neoplastic: other" categories have mostly been superseded by two new ones: "pancreatic neoplasia-low-grade" (PaN-low) and "pancreatic neoplasia-high-grade" (PaN-high), which classify intermediate neoplastic lesions based on cytological atypia. We aim to assess the reproducibility and risk of malignancy (ROM) for reporting pancreaticobiliary cytopathology by the WHO system in comparison with the PSC system.

Effect of Detector Orientation and Influence of Jaw Position in the Determination of Small-field Output Factor with Various Detectors for High-energy Photon Beams.

Background: Accurate dose measurements are difficult in small fields due to charge particle disequilibrium, partial source occlusion, steep dose gradient, and the finite size of the detector.

Aim: The study aims to determine the output factor using various detectors oriented in parallel and perpendicular orientations for three different tertiary collimating systems using 15 MV photon beams. In addition, this study analyzes how the output factor could be affected by different configurations of X and Y jaws above the tertiary collimators.

Introduction: Laparoscopy in gallbladder cancer (GBC) has a possible role in staging, radical cure, and palliation in gallbladder cancer. Final Results of RIGHT Choice: Ribociclib Plus Endocrine Therapy Versus Combination Chemotherapy in Premenopausal Women With Clinically Aggressive Hormone Receptor-Positive/Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2-Negative Advanced Breast Cancer.

Purpose: A head-to-head comparison of efficacy between a cyclin-dependent kinase 4/6 inhibitor plus endocrine therapy (ET) versus combination chemotherapy (CT) has never been reported in patients with clinically aggressive hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HR+/HER2-) advanced breast cancer (ABC).

Methods: In this open-label, multicenter, randomized phase II trial, pre/perimenopausal women with clinically aggressive HR+/HER2- ABC were randomly assigned 1:1 to first-line ribociclib (600 mg once daily; 3 weeks on, 1 week off) plus letrozole/anastrozole and goserelin or investigator's choice of combination CT (docetaxel plus capecitabine, paclitaxel plus gemcitabine, or capecitabine plus vinorelbine). The primary end point was progression-free survival (PFS).

A single institutional analysis of 137 patients with lower extremity bone tumors was done between 2014 and 2020.

Transverse Cervical Artery Based Free Flap in Reconstruction of a Tongue Defect: A Case Report.

In the era of reconstructive surgery, new and revolutionary options are being explored in oro-facial defect reconstruction. As free flaps are presently front runners for reconstruction of defects resulting from resection of benign and malignant lesions, there is a need for devising newer options to serve the need of covering defects following oncological resection. The availability of promising pedicles in the supraclavicular region makes it a potential donor site for harvesting regional flaps, and going forward, free flaps.

Heterotopic Ossification After Reconstruction with Free Fibula Flap - an Ambiguous Mishap.

Heterotopic ossifications (HO) are rare, yet, well reported complications after free flap transfer. We present a case of HO that occurred within a month, and has not been previously described in the literature. This serves as a reminder that bony hard swellings proximal to the free flap within a month should raise the suspicion of HO.

Dosimetric Comparison of Isodose Surface Volume and Total Reference Air Kerma (TRAK) based Volume in Cervical Cancer Brachytherapy.

Objective: We aim to compare TRAK & TPS based isodose volumes in cervical cancer brachytherapy and assess the feasibility, accuracy and potential future implications of TRAK in this regard and as a newer emerging tool to assess treatment intensity in cervical cancer brachytherapy.

Methods: one hundred patients with histologically proven squamous cell carcinoma of cervix uteri were assessed for brachytherapy (after completion of external radiation) and prospectively enrolled for the study. 60 Gy, 75 Gy, and 85 Gy isodose volumes were obtained from the TPS (VTPS) for 50, 25 & 25 patients with Manchester, Fletcher & interstitial implant respectively, receiving various fractionation schedules by Ir192 HDR remote after-loading system.

Isolated Sacrococcygeal Plexiform Neurofibroma in a Child.

This case report describes a 4-year-old girl with an isolated neurofibroma in the sacrococcygeal region. Although initially resembling sacrococcygeal teratoma, histopathology revealed a benign nerve sheath tumor. Wide local excision was performed, and the final diagnosis was plexiform neurofibroma.
