Background: Self-efficacy serves as a crucial predictor for successful breastfeeding. However, in certain maternal wards, mother-baby separation continues to occur due to diverse factors.

Loss of PTEN tumor suppressor is an important event during colorectal cancer (CRC) development and is a target for therapeutic exploitation. This study reports that bromodomain and extra-terminal motif (BET) is a synthetic lethal partner of PTEN in CRC. BET inhibition (BETi) selectively induced G1 cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in CRC.

Endoscopic submucosal dissection for early esophageal squamous cell carcinoma after ligation and sclerotherapy of esophageal and gastric varices.

Esophageal cancer ranked ten of the most common cancers in China. With the advancement of high-quality endoscopy and chromoendoscopic technique, early esophageal cancer can be diagnosed more easily, even combined with esophageal-gastric fundal varices. Endoscopic resection of early esophageal cancer is a minimally invasive treatment method for early esophageal cancer, and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is one of the standard treatments for early esophageal cancer in view of the risk of bleeding, the patient in this study successfully received ESD treatment after using endoscopic variceal ligation and endoscopic injection of tissue glue and sclerosing agent before ESD surgery.

Prognostic nomograms for predicting long-term overall survival in spindle cell melanoma: a population-based study.

Background: There are few research findings on the survival prognosis of spindle cell melanoma (SCM), which is an unusual kind of melanoma. The purpose of this study was to develop a thorough nomogram for predicting the overall survival (OS) of patients with SCM and to assess its validity by comparing it with the conventional American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system.

Methods: The Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database was searched, and 2,015 patients with SCM were selected for the analysis.

In vitro SELEX and application of an African swine fever virus (ASFV) p30 protein specific aptamer.

The African swine fever virus (ASFV) has caused severe economic losses in the pig industry. To monitor ASFV spread, the p30 protein has been identified as an ideal infection marker due to its early and long-term expression during the ASFV infection period. Timely monitoring of ASFV p30 enables the detection of ASFV infection and assessment of disease progression.

Dual-layer spectral detector CT: A noninvasive preoperative tool for predicting histopathological differentiation in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

Purpose: To predict histopathological differentiation grades in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) before surgery with quantitative and qualitative variables obtained from dual-layer spectral detector CT (DLCT).

Methods: Totally 128 patients with histopathologically confirmed PDAC and preoperative DLCT were retrospectively enrolled and categorized into the low-grade (LG) (well and moderately differentiated, n = 82) and high-grade (HG) (poorly differentiated, n = 46) subgroups. Both conventional and spectral variables for PDAC were measured.

This five-year longitudinal study (2017-2022) examined the local prevalence and molecular typing of MRSA in Macau, with future MRSA type distribution predicted through ARIMA modeling.
