Besides many efforts on the detection and quantification of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONSs) in the aqueous media activated by the cold atmospheric plasma, to get a better insight into the dominant mechanism and reactive species in medical applications, a challenge still remains in monitoring the real-time evaluation of them. To this end, in the present work, relying on the photonic technology based on the time-resolved phosphorescence spectroscopy, real-time tracking of RONSs concentration in treated aqueous media is achieved by following the dissolved oxygen (DO) production/consumption. Using a photonic-based dissolved oxygen sensor, the dependence of real-time RONS concentration evaluation of plasma activated medium on plasma nozzle distance, non-thermal plasma jet exposure time, various culture media, and presence of cells is investigated.

In recent decades, the significant negative environmental impacts of the construction industry have caused a lot of concern, especially from the large number of temporary buildings required for mega projects. Reusing building components can help reduce pollution and preserve resources, but the economic and environmental effects are not well understood. This study has addressed the economic and environmental effects of reusing temporary building elements using life cycle assessment (LCA).

Mitochondria are vital for cellular activities, influencing ATP production, Ca2 signaling, and reactive oxygen species generation. It has been proposed that nuclear genome-derived circular RNAs (circRNAs) play a role in biological processes. For the first time, this study aims to comprehensively explore experimentally confirmed human mitochondrial genome-derived circRNAs (mt-circRNAs) via in-silico analysis.

One of the key features of gambling disorder (GD) is impairment in cognitive-emotional control. Considering the negative consequences of GD, the present study investigated the effectiveness of emotional working memory training (eWMT) in improving cognitive control, attention, working memory capacity, and cognitive emotion regulation strategies (CERS) among young adults with GD compared to a placebo group. Following the initial assessment in the pre-test phase, eligible participants were randomly assigned to one of two groups: experimental (n = 34) and placebo (n = 30).

Background: Obesity presents multifarious etiopathologies with its management being a global challenge. This article presents the first ever report on the impact of spinach thylakoid extract-induced high-intensity functional training (HIFT) on obesity management via regulating the levels of novel adipokine, C1q/TNF-related Protein-12 (CTRP-12), furin, and Krüppel-like factor 15 (KLF-15).
Methods: Sixty-eight obese male subjects were randomly divided into four groups: control group (CG), supplement group (SG), training group (TG), and the combined training and supplement group (TSG).

Cancer is a complex disease driven by multiple genetic changes, including mutations in oncogenes, tumor suppressor genes, DNA repair genes, and genes involved in cancer metabolism. Synthetic lethality (SL) is a promising approach in cancer research and treatment, where the simultaneous dysfunction of specific genes or pathways causes cell death. By targeting vulnerabilities created by these dysfunctions, SL therapies selectively kill cancer cells while sparing normal cells.

Background: Exciting left DLPFC activity with high frequency and inhibiting right DLPFC with low frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown antidepressant effects in major depressive disorder (MDD) and executive functions. However, few studies have directly compared unilateral and bilateral protocols.
Methods: Forty-seven individuals with treatment-resistant MDD underwent 10 sessions of rTMS over left DLPFC (20 Hz), bilateral DLPFC (left 20 Hz, right 1 Hz), or sham stimulation.

Objective: Obesity is associated with an exacerbated metabolic condition that is mediated through impairing balance in the secretion of some adipo-myokines. Therefore, the objective of the present study was to explore the impact of astaxanthin supplementation in conjunction with a 12-week CrossFit training regimen on some selected adipo-myokines, insulin insensitivity, and serum lipid levels in obese males.
Material And Methods: This study is a randomized control trial design; 60 obese males were randomly divided into four groups of 15, including the control group (CG), supplement group (SG), training group (TG), and combined training and supplement group (TSG).

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of communication and marital (sexual) skills in marital functioning and satisfaction and reduced marital conflicts among Iranian couples. The research literature has been collected from Magiran, SID, Noormags, ISC, and Civilica databases from 2006 to 2021. In the initial search, 104-related articles were extracted and after removing the duplicates, and screening the title and abstract, 34 articles were identified as relevant.

Objectives: Researchers suggested that the interruptive effects of chronic pain on cognitive functions may be modulated by the level of pain catastrophizing (PC). However, in individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP), domains of cognitive function that may be affected by the level of PC remain largely unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to compare cognitive functions between individuals with CLBP with high and low PC and pain-free controls.

In this regard, through in-depth interviews with 15 participants, the study provided insights on how self-oriented and socially prescribed perfectionism might affect teachers' sense of well-being. The study findings revealed that while self-oriented perfectionism was associated with a drive for professional growth and job satisfaction, socially prescribed perfectionism contributed to heightened stress and a contemplation of leaving the profession.

This study explores the applicability of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis in the United States (US) from 2006 to 2020, employing the Spatial Durbin Model (SDM) to analyze the cross-border effects of pollution among states. The results indicate that although economic growth initially decreases environmental degradation, it subsequently contributes to more significant environmental degradation, challenging the EKC hypothesis's validity at the US state level. Factors such as higher energy prices and reliance on fossil fuels are also identified as significant drivers of environmental deterioration, with varying impacts observed across states.

Background: Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a common hematologic cancer with unique incidence and prognosis patterns in people of all ages. Recent molecular biology advances have illuminated ALL's complex molecular pathways, notably the Hedgehog (Hh) signaling system and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs). This work aimed to unravel the molecular complexities of the link between Hh signaling and ALL by concentrating on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) and their interactions with significant Hh pathway genes.

Premature ovarian failure (POF)is defined as the loss of normal ovarian function before the age of 40 and is characterized by increased gonadotropin levels and decreased estradiol levels and ovarian reserve, often leading to infertility. The incomplete understanding of the pathogenesis of POF is a major impediment to the development of effective treatments for this disease, so the use of animal models is a promising option for investigating and identifying the molecular mechanisms involved in POF patients and developing therapeutic agents. As mice and rats are the most commonly used models in animal research, this review article considers studies that used murine POF models.
