The presence of -, , gene family has been reported in many important plants, playing roles in various aspects of plant biology but little has been uncovered in soybeans. Soybean is one of the major plants providing nutrition for humans and livestock globally. In this study, we overexpressed a novel gene () in and conducted bioinformatic analyses, evaluated the T2 transgenic line in an open field, and applied major stressors along with the growth promoter GA to investigate the potential functions of the gene.

The naked-eye detection of hazardous pollutants through simple and cost-effective techniques is of great interest to the scientific community and related stakeholders in analytical science. The present study emphases the development of a stimuli-responsive probe by encountering sophisticated techniques for the detection of environmental pollutants. Herein, highly swellable and fluorescent-WTR-CDs-loaded HB-Alg/Gel@WTR-CDs was fabricated through a simple extrusion dripping method.

Mpox, formerly known as Monkeypox, is a viral zoonotic disease endemic to Central and West Africa that has posed significant public health challenges since its identification in 1970. Despite decades of experience in managing outbreaks, the 2022-2024 Mpox outbreaks exposed substantial gaps in global preparedness and response, leading the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) in 2022. The resurgence of cases in Europe in 2022 and the more recent emergence of the virulent clade Ⅰb in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in 2024 have highlighted a critical need for improved proactive and response strategies to curb the epidemic.

Background: Metabolic risk factors are a significant cause of global burden among adolescents and young adults, but there is a lack of attention to the burden attributable to these metabolic risk factors globally.
Aims: This study aims to provide comprehensive estimates of five important metabolic risk factors and the attributable disease burden in people aged 15-39 years from 1990 to 2021, based on the Global Burden of Disease Study (GBD) database.
Methods: Global total deaths and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) were used to describe the burden attributable to five common metabolic risk factors, including high fasting plasma glucose (FPG), high low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high systolic blood pressure (SBP), high body mass index (BMI), and kidney dysfunction, in adolescents and young adults.

Three distinct ternary complexes (TC-M1, TC-M2, and TC-M3) based on lactoferrin (LF), (-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), and α-lactalbumin (ALA) were prepared by varying the assembly sequence and EGCG concentrations (ranging from 0 to 2.0 mM). Structural characterization was performed using various spectroscopic techniques, while the assembly mechanisms were investigated through ITC and molecular docking.

We aimed to assess perceptions about interprofessional collaboration (IPC) of healthcare professionals working in an acute medical unit (AMU) in an internal medicine department in the United Arab Emirates. The AMU provides care during the initial 24 to 72 hours of admission and emphasizes interprofessional collaboration. Using the Assessment of Interprofessional Team Collaboration Scale II, the study measured partnership, cooperation, and coordination among team members.

Infections attributable to respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) are a major cause of hospitalization among young children worldwide. Despite substantial clinical and economic burden, real-world data associated with RSV infections in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are limited. This study aimed to assess among children (<18 years) diagnosed with RSV the epidemiology, seasonality, comorbidities, treatment patterns, length of hospital stay, healthcare resource utilization (HCRU), and costs associated with pediatric infection in Dubai, UAE.

Purpose: It remains unclear if fluid pressures used during cataract surgeries contribute to iatrogenic corneal endothelial cell (CEC) loss.
Methods: A custom experimental platform was used to pressurize the anterior chamber of explanted porcine eyes to surgical fluid pressures of 60 mm Hg or 400 mm Hg for 5 minutes or 60 mm Hg for 45 minutes (n = 8 or 9 per group). The corneal endothelia were stained with a unique combination of nucleic acid viability dyes and were imaged using fluorescence microscopy without removing the cornea from the globe.

The research on aerial manipulation systems has been increased rapidly in recent years. These systems are very attractive for a wide range of applications due to their unique features. However, dynamics, control and manipulation tasks of such systems are quite challenging because they are naturally unstable, have very fast dynamics, have strong nonlinearities, are very susceptible to parameters variations due to carrying a payload besides the external disturbances, and have complex inverse kinematics.

This research reports a continuous output ionic thermoelectric (i-TE) system based on MXene/PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) hydrogel, by utilizing thermo-diffusion of Cu and Cl ions and the redox reaction involving Cu/Cu at the electrode interfaces. The thermopower of the i-TE system can be independently tuned to a value of -3.13 mVK by adjusting the ion diffusivity via MXene (TiCT).

Introduction: Glomerular basement membrane (GBM) disease is a severe and exceedingly rare disorder characterized by the presence of circulating antibodies targeting the non-collagen NC1 domain of the α3 chain of collagen type IV in glomerular and alveolar basement membranes. It typically presents as rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN), often accompanied by pulmonary hemorrhage. The occurrence of double-seropositivity for anti-GBM antibody and anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA), primarily with myeloperoxidase specificity (MPO-ANCA), is particularly uncommon in pediatric cases.

The brain must guide immediate responses to beneficial and harmful stimuli while simultaneously writing memories for future reference. While both immediate actions and reinforcement learning are instructed by dopamine, how dopaminergic systems maintain coherence between these 2 reward functions is unknown. Through optogenetic activation experiments, we showed that the dopamine neurons that inform olfactory memory in Drosophila have a distinct, parallel function driving attraction and aversion (valence).

Two-dimensional (2D) superconductors that reside on substrates must be influenced by Rashba spin-orbit coupling (SOC). The intriguing effect of Rashba-type SOCs on iron-based superconductors (IBSs) has remained largely a mystery. In this work, we unveil modified Landau-level spectroscopy and the intricate band splitting of FeSe monolayers through the precision of scanning tunneling spectroscopy, which unequivocally demonstrates the presence of Rashba SOC.
