Herbal medicines are frequently blended in the form of multi-drug combinations primarily based on the precept of medicinal compatibility, to achieve the purpose of treating diseases. However, due to the lack of appropriate techniques and the multi-component and multi-target nature of Chinese medicine compounding, it is tough to explain how the drugs interact with each other. As a rising discipline, cyber pharmacology has formed a new approach characterized by using holistic and systematic "network targets" via the cross-fertilization of computer technology, bioinformatics, and different multidisciplinary disciplines.

Naoluoxintong (NLXT) has been used to treat ischemic stroke (IS) in China for more than two hundred years. However, the pharmacodynamic material basis of NLXT has not been fully studied. Under the guidance of the former network pharmacological analysis, a rapid and reliable method combining UPLC-Q-TOF-MS with the novel informatics UNIFI™ platform was established which was used to study the composition of NLXT and its prototype components and metabolites .

Autonomic imbalance is a core aspect of stress response that strongly correlates to cardiovascular diseases. Enhanced activity of the central corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) system may result in autonomic imbalance to cause cardiovascular responses in a stress state. Electroacupuncture at PC6 acupoints has been demonstrated to prevent and treat cardiovascular diseases.

Stress can trigger cardiovascular disease. Both imbalance of autonomic nervous activity and increase of neurohormonal output are core aspects of stress responses and can lead to cardiovascular disease. PC6 as a very important acupoint is used to prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and to improve stress-related activities.

Background: The occurrence and development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are closely related to the immune status of the tumor-host. The immunosuppression caused by tumor cells and toxic side effects produced by chemotherapeutic drugs results in a decrease in immune function, ultimately leading to the failure of clinical chemotherapy treatment. Ginsenoside Rg3 has been clinically reported to have positive effects in enhancing immune function in patients.

Background: The primary pathogenic factors of Alzheimer's disease (AD) have been identified as oxidative stress, inflammatory damage, and apoptosis. Chrysophanol (CHR) has a good neuroprotective effect on AD, however, the potential mechanism of CHR remains unclear.

Purpose: In this study, we focused on the ROS/TXNIP/NLRP3 pathway to determine whether CHR regulates oxidative stress and neuroinflammation.

Objectives: Huangpu Tongqiao Capsule (HPTQC) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) that has been used to treat Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study was to explore the pharmacological action and molecular mechanism of HPTQC in the treatment of AD.

Methods: The possible targets of HTPQC were predicted by the molecular docking technique.

Taohong siwu decoction (THSWD) has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on ischemic strokes (IS). However, it is not clear to us whether THSWD reduces deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage after stroke and reduces the inflammatory response caused by the damage. Therefore, we constructed an IS model (I/R) in rats and performed oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation (OGD/R) on BV2 cells.

The study aimed to establish a strategy to elucidate the in vivo constituents of Angelicae Pubescentis Radix (APR, also known as Duhuo) and reveal the probable mechanisms underlying its anti-rheumatoid arthritis activity. First recorded by Shennong Bencao Jing, APR is mainly used to treat Bi syndrome. Eleven absorbed components of APR were successfully identified using the rheumatoid arthritis (RA) rat model and the UHPLC-QTOF/MS technique.

Activated platelets (PLTs) participate in the regulation of tumor angiogenesis, and tumors can activate PLTs. Whether co-culture of lung carcinoma with PLTs improves the function of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) requires further investigation. The present study aimed to investigate the impact of H1975 cell crosstalk with PLTs on the proliferation, migration and tube formation of HUVECs.

Wilson's disease (WD) is an autosomal recessive disease caused by mutation of the ATPase copper transporting β (ATP7B) gene, resulting in abnormal copper metabolism. We aimed to investigate the protective effect of GanDouLing (GDL) on neural stem cell (NSC) function in a mouse model of WD. NSCs were treated with different concentrations of GDL alone or in combination with penicillamine, following which we evaluated cellular growth, apoptosis, and differentiation.
