In recent years, a massive increase has been observed in the number of published articles describing accurate and reliable molecular dynamics simulations of lipid bilayers. This is due to several reasons, including the development of fast and efficient methods for treating long-range electrostatic interactions, significant progress in computer hardware, progress in atomistic simulation algorithms and the development of well-validated empirical molecular mechanical force fields. Although molecular dynamics is an effective approach for investigating different aspects of lipid bilayers, to the best of our knowledge, there is no review in the literature that explains the different analyses that can be carried out with membrane simulation.

Several studies in the recent decade have supported a relationship between different types of infections and CHD (Coronary Heart Disease); however, such a relationship is not definitely proven. Helicobacter pylori is one of the most common infections in human. The role of inflammation in the pathogens of CAD (Coronary Artery Disease) has been widely discussed; although, the mechanism is not clearly known yet.

In this study, the interaction of clomiphene (CLO), a non-steroidal and ovulatory stimulant drug employed in the treatment of infertility, with human serum albumin (HSA), the most abundant plasma transport protein, was investigated using spectrofluorometric, FT-IR, UV-Vis, and molecular modeling methods. The obtained results indicated that the binding of CLO to HSA led to intense fluorescence quenching of HSA a static quenching mechanism, and that the process of CLO binding to HSA was enthalpy driven. By using experimental and theoretical methods, it was confirmed that as a result of binding CLO, slight conformational changes in HSA occurred.

High reaction rate and easy availability make green synthesis of metal nanoparticles noticeable. In the present study, gold nanoparticles with wide applications in different fields were synthesized by an ecofriendly method at room temperature using extract as the reducing agent. Properties of the synthesized gold nanoparticles (GNP) were identified by different analytical techniques including: UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy verified presence of Au NPs in the solution while functional groups of its extract and synthesized Au NPs were determined by FT-IR.

Background: Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) which is the most common sleep disorder breathing (SDB), imposes heavy costs on health and economy. The aim of this study was to provide models based on data mining approaches (C5.0 decision tree and logistic regression model [LRM]) and choose a top model for predicting OSA without polysomnography (PSG) devices that is a standard method for diagnosis of this disease, to identify patients with this syndrome payment.

Cyclopeptides can be considered as naturally biologically active compounds. Over the last several decades, many attempts have been made to synthesize complex naturally occurring cyclopeptides, and great progress has been achieved to advance the field of total synthesis. Moreover, cyclopeptides containing heterocyclic skeletons have been recently developed into powerful reactions and approaches.

For the first time, a novel analytical method based on a paper based enzymatic biosensor assisted by digital image processing and first-order multivariate calibration has been reported for rapid determination of nitrate in food samples. The platform of the biosensor includes a piece of Whatman filter paper impregnated with Griess reagent (3-nitroaniline, 1-naphthylamine and hydrochloric acid) and nitrate reductase. After dropping a distinct volume of nitrate solution onto the biosensor surface, nitrate reductase selectively reduces nitrate to nitrite and then the Griess reagent selectively reacts with nitrite to produce a red colored azo dye.

In the present study, camptothecin grafted poly amino ester-methyl ether polyethylene glycol (CPT-PEA-MPEG) as a novel copolymer was synthesized by Michael reaction at different ratios of MPEG and CPT (60 : 40 and 80 : 20). The microemulsion was used to prepare nanomicelles, and cytotoxicity was performed on the HT29 cell line, and cell survival was measured by MTT assay. The syntheses were confirmed by H NMR and FT-IR.

Background: Considering the importance of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) as one of the health consequences of job stress among nurses and significant contradictions in prevalence in different parts of the body, this study was carried out to determine the prevalence of MSDs among Iranian nurses.

Methods: All published studies from June 2000 until June 2015 were considered in reliable databases such as PubMed, Google Scholar, Google search, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Persian databases such as SID, Iran Medex, and Magiran. These studies, after quality control, were entered into meta-analysis using the random effects model, a total of 41 papers were assessed between 2004 and 2015.

In this research, a new extraction method based on liquid-phase microextraction and the freezing of deep eutectic solvent (LPME-FDES) has been developed for the determination of common pesticides in water samples prior to their analysis by high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet detection (HPLC-UV). In this method, a green solvent consisting of 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride and 1-undecanol was used as an extraction solvent, yielding the advantages of material stability, low density, and a suitable freezing point near room temperature. Under the optimum conditions, enrichment factors and extraction recoveries are in the range of 150-180 and 75-90%, respectively.

Background: Over the past decade, cardiovascular diseases have been recognized as the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Myocardial infarction (MI) is one of the most prevalent types of cardiovascular diseases that is caused by the closure of coronary arteries and ischemic heart muscle. Numerous studies have analyzed the role of H.

Background: The harmful effects of sedative medications and substances in conjunction with limited research regarding predictive psychological constructs of drug abuse necessitate further investigation of associated factors. Therefore, the present study aimed to elucidate the roles of perceived stress, alexithymia, and psychological health as predictors of sedative abuse in medical students.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 548 students at Kermanshah University of Medical Sciences, Iran, were selected using stratified random sampling.
