Background: A growing body of research is dedicated to developing new therapeutic agents for wound healing with fewer adverse effects. One of the proceedings being taken today in wound healing research is to identify promising biological materials that not only heal wounds but also vanish scarring. The effectiveness of nanofibers like polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), in improving wound healing can be related to their unique properties.

Introduction: Neurodegenerative diseases (NDs) develop with the gradual advancement of neuronal damage and dysfunction in the central nervous system (CNS). These disorders are mostly the outcomes of the improper sedimentation and accumulation of proteins, such as amyloid-β (Aβ), α-synuclein, and prions. Astaxanthin (AST) exists in different types of living organisms and displays antioxidant and anti-inflammatory functions.

Background: Sulfonamides are widely used carbonic anhydrase inhibitors (CAIs) in clinical settings, however, their nonspecific inhibition of multiple carbonic anhydrase isoforms can lead to reduced efficacy and side effects. This study aimed to develop sulfanilamide-diazo derivatives incorporating benzoic acid moieties as novel inhibitors of hCA II activity to reduce side effects and enhance selectivity for different CA isozymes.
Methods: We investigated the interaction between these derivatives and the hCA II isozyme via various spectroscopic and docking methods.

The function and mechanism of Cyclophilin A (CypA) in modulating gene expression associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) remain unclear. This multifunctional protein is found to be elevated in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of individuals at risk for AD. The cytotoxic effects of CypA, including both wild-type and the mutant R55A, were assessed using the MTT assay.

Many disorders, including heart, bone, cancer, liver, and brain disease, have been treated using stem cell therapy as a viable alternative. The somatosensory system is affected by a lesion, which leads to neuropathic pain (NP), and just a relatively tiny fraction of patients now receive effective care from existing pharmacological medications. There have been studies to show the effectiveness of various stem cells in reducing or treating experimental neurological pain, although these studies are uncommon in number.

Among various types of memory, working memory (WM) plays a crucial role in reasoning, decision-making, and behavior regulation. Neuromorphic computing is a well-established engineering approach that offers promising avenues for advancing our understanding of WM processes by mimicking the structure and operation of the human brain using electronic technology. In this work, a digital neuromorphic system is proposed and then implemented in hardware to illustrate the real-time WM process based on the spiking neuron-astrocyte network (SNAN).
