Dichotomies with respect to medical orientations and public health have been common in the past and even in the present probably orchestrated by the traditional versus modern medical concepts that became eternal arena for disquiet in the healing world of many countries. In public health, the so-called technology tradition was especially dominant which assumed the power of technology and the paternalistic 'managerial mode' regarding disease control programs. Such a 'managerial perversion' has demolished the positivity of primary health care as well as the social determinants framework.

This study explores the therapeutic potential of curcumin (CUR) in cancer therapy, specifically examining its targeted transport through folate receptors and its interaction with certain proteins in breast cancer cell lines. We employed molecular docking technique to assess the binding affinities of CUR with proteins 1H1Q, 1UOM, 4JDD, 5U2D and MCF10A normal breast epithelial cell line protein 5UGB. Out of these, the CUR-1H1Q complex exhibited the greatest binding affinity.

The study aims to evaluate the diagnostic potential of pathogen-specific leptospiral sphingomyelinases, LipL32, LipL41, and HbpA in human patients with dengue-leptospirosis coinfection. Patients (n-86), upon clinical evaluation, were categorized into Group I (n-37; leptospirosis), Group II (n-39; dengue-leptospirosis coinfection), and Group III (n-10; negative for both dengue and leptospirosis). ELISA identified significant levels of the four leptospiral antigens in the urine of Group I and II, but not in Group III patients.

Background: Advanced glycation end products (AGE) and their receptors (RAGE) have been implicated in developing periodontal complications in diabetic patients. This study aimed to identify salivary AGE, RAGE, soluble RAGE (sRAGE), and active-matrix metalloproteinase-8 (aMMP-8) levels at varying glycemic levels in periodontitis patients.
Methods: Ninety-eight participants were categorized into uncontrolled DM-PD group (n = 27)-periodontitis patients with uncontrolled Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) (glycated hemoglobin [HbA1c] ≥7%); controlled DM-PD group (n = 33)-periodontitis patients with controlled T2DM (HbA1c 5.

In heart failure, sympathetic overdrive is evidenced by norepinephrine spillover, receptor level changes, etc. Beta-blockers continue to be the cornerstone of treatment in patients with chronic heart failure due to their ability to counteract sympathetic overdrive. Extensive clinical research has demonstrated that long-term beta-blocker treatment with metoprolol succinate, carvedilol, or bisoprolol enhances left ventricular function and reverses left ventricular remodeling, decreases hospitalization risk, and increases survival.

The current study begins by optimizing the deucravacitinib molecule in the gas phase at the ωB97XD/cc-pVDZ level of theory using density functional theory and proceeds to study its intramolecular interactions. Further, a molecule of EtOH was introduced at different locations on the deucravacitinib molecule, and the noncovalent interactions arising from them were also investigated using several computational tools. In this way, eight deucravacitinib-EtOH systems () were identified and their electronic environment was studied after evaluating their binding energy.
