Although chirality is critical for molecular properties and functions, experimental quantification of chirality is lacking. Herein, we performed cyclic voltammetry (CV) under polarized magnetic fields to provide a unified scale to quantify and compare DNA chirality. We observed the largest electron spin polarization in DNA structures with opposite chiral senses, which is consistent with the effect of chiral-induced spin selectivity (CISS).

Two APOBEC DNA cytosine deaminase enzymes, APOBEC3A and APOBEC3B, generate somatic mutations in cancer, thereby driving tumour development and drug resistance. Here, we used single-cell RNA sequencing to study APOBEC3A and APOBEC3B expression in healthy and malignant mucosal epithelia, validating key observations with immunohistochemistry, spatial transcriptomics and functional experiments. Whereas APOBEC3B is expressed in keratinocytes entering mitosis, we show that APOBEC3A expression is confined largely to terminally differentiating cells and requires grainyhead-like transcription factor 3 (GRHL3).

This study provides baseline data for voting patterns and the political affiliation of licensed nurses (licensed practical nurses [LPNs], registered nurses [RNs], and advanced practice registered nurses [APRNs]) in Ohio for the November 2020, 2022, and 2023 general elections. Using two public databases (licensed nurses and registered voters), the findings for 73.7% of all licensed nurses registered to vote are reported, including 18,894 APRNs, 30,731 LPNs, and 137,353 RNs.

The forensic application of stable oxygen isotope data from human tissues depends on naturally occurring isotopic variation in drinking water across geographic areas. One factor which complicates interpretation of forensic data is local variability: if a wide range of drinking water values is in a small geographic region it may be difficult to identify or rule out that region as a location of origin. We examine data from community collection programs documenting tap water isotope variation within 30 cities\developed areas throughout the United States.

The tight-binding model, foundational in depicting electronic behaviors in solid-state physics, has recently contributed to the understanding of non-Hermitian skin effects in optics, acoustics, and mechanics. However, tight-binding model is primarily built upon scalar nearest couplings, which in turn does not fit to describe the vectorial long-range interactions inherently in thermophotonics. Here, we report a strategy involving many-body radiative interactions in a two-dimensional thermophotonic lattice, and further reveal two types of orthogonal non-Hermitian skin modes in a reciprocal system.
