Background: The annual administration of the influenza vaccine is the most effective method for preventing influenza. We have evaluated the effectiveness of the inactivated influenza vaccine in children aged 6 months to 15 years across the seasons from 2013/2014 to 2022/2023. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of the inactivated influenza vaccine in the 2023/2024 season, the first year following the easing of strict COVID-19 measures, and possibly the last season when only the inactivated vaccine is available on the market.

Purpose: The concept of non-mass abnormalities of the breast has been employed in Japan for approximately 20 years. Although B-mode findings are classified as non-mass abnormalities, the usefulness of adding color Doppler ultrasonography (US) and strain elastography to B-mode US is unclear. Therefore, we conducted a multicenter study (JABTS BC-07) to establish the diagnostic criteria for breast US, including color Doppler and elastography, for non-mass abnormalities of the breast and verify their diagnostic usefulness.

Purpose: This study aimed to determine whether the administration of a modified thoracoabdominal nerves block through perichondrial approach (M-TAPA) could result in the blockade of the lateral cutaneous branches. This study focused on a newly discovered anatomical space/plane adjacent to the M-TAPA plane, which we termed "space between the endothoracic fascia, diaphragm, and costodiaphragmatic recess: SEDIC."
Methods: Thirteen sides of nine formalin-embalmed cadavers were macroscopically dissected to investigate the anatomical spaces related to the effects of M-TAPA.

Hypertension is a significant risk factor for microangiopathy and cardiovascular complications in diabetic patients. The efficacy of mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonists in impeding the advancement of diabetic nephropathy, along with the reduction in active renin concentration observed in diabetic retinopathy, strongly implies the involvement of MR overactivation in diabetic complications. This review provides a comprehensive review of various mechanisms proposed for MR overactivation in diabetes mellitus.

Background: In patients with traumatic posterior shoulder instability, little is known about the precise location and size of the reverse Hill-Sachs lesion.
Methods: Forty-nine shoulders of 47 patients with traumatic posterior instability were included in this study based on the following inclusion criteria: (1) a primary or recurrent traumatic posterior shoulder dislocation and (2) the initial event being caused by trauma. Patients were excluded if they had (1) no history of trauma, (2) prior shoulder surgery, (3) no computed tomographic (CT) examination, or (4) were seizure cases.

With the rising numbers of patients infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, long coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-a sequelae of COVID-19-has become a major problem.
