Article Synopsis
  • The study aims to enhance antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) by understanding the barriers veterinary surgeons face in changing antimicrobial prescribing practices.
  • Through interviews and discussions in Northern Ireland, key barriers were identified, including commercial constraints, farmer behaviors, multiple sources of medicines, and inadequate regulatory actions.
  • The study suggests that improving AMS will require behavioral changes from both vets and farmers, with a call for greater state involvement in regulating medicine sales and fostering better communication about flock health.

This affects the ability to accommodate newly diagnosed COVID-19 patients and other non-COVID-19 patients who require hospitalization. Therefore, this systematic review aims to understand the rates of and risk factors for hospital readmissions and all-cause mortality among COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized after being discharged following index hospitalization.

This study evaluated interventions to sustainably improve general practitioner delivered care for patients with knee osteoarthritis.

How blood parasite infections influence the migration of hosts remains a lively debated issue as past studies found negative, positive, or no response to infections. This particularly applies to small birds, for which monitoring of detailed migration behavior over a whole annual cycle has been technically unachievable so far. Here, we investigate how bird migration is influenced by parasite infections.
