Purpose: Down syndrome regression disorder (DSRD) is a rare neuropsychiatric condition affecting otherwise healthy individuals with Down syndrome. Multiple studies on DSRD have revealed that immunotherapy with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) is both safe and effective, although site of infusion has never been studied. This study sought to evaluate the safety and tolerability of IVIg in individuals with DSRD receiving home-based infusions.

: Artri King is an over-the-counter supplement previously marketed to treat joint pain and arthritis. In 2022, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a product warning after it discovered Artri King contained hidden ingredients including dexamethasone, diclofenac, and methocarbamol. Given the risk of adrenal insufficiency in the context of long-term dexamethasone use, we sought to report on adverse endocrinologic outcomes observed among patients endorsing the use of these supplements who presented to an orthopedic surgery clinic at a county safety net hospital.

Purpose: This Hydrocephalus Clinical Research Network (HCRN) study had two aims: (1) to compare the predictive performance of the original ETV Success Score (ETVSS) using logistic regression modeling with other newer machine learning models and (2) to assess whether inclusion of imaging variables improves prediction performance using machine learning models.
Methods: We identified children undergoing first-time ETV for hydrocephalus that were enrolled prospectively at HCRN sites between 200 and 2020. The primary outcome was ETV success 6 months after index surgery.

Purpose: The TRK inhibitor larotrectinib is US Food and Drug Administration approved for fusion-positive solid tumors that lack a satisfactory alternative or have progressed after treatment but has not been systematically studied as a frontline therapy with a defined duration of treatment. ADVL1823 evaluated larotrectinib in patients with newly diagnosed fusion-positive solid tumors with response-adapted duration of therapy and local control.
Methods: Patients received larotrectinib twice daily in 28-day cycles for a predefined duration of treatment, ranging from 6 to 26 cycles depending on response to therapy and surgical resectability.

Purpose: Lebrikizumab is a novel, high-affinity immunoglobulin G4 monoclonal antibody that targets interleukin-13, a central mediator in atopic dermatitis (AD). In previous studies in patients with moderate-to-severe AD, lebrikizumab, administered subcutaneously via a prefilled syringe with a needle safety device (PFS-NSD), demonstrated rapid and durable dose-dependent efficacy. We assessed the pharmacokinetics and safety of lebrikizumab using either a PFS-NSD or an investigational autoinjector.

Objective: We hypothesized that a method to segment human airways from clinical cases and import them into a case presentation environment in Virtual Reality (VR) could be developed to model and visualize complex airway stenosis for efficient surgical planning.
Methods: One normal and two pathological airways modeled from CT scans at a slice thickness of 0.625 mm were processed.

Extraosseous manifestations are found in less than 5% of patients with multiple myeloma. They can arise in any tissue, and their presence has been associated with more aggressive disease. We present FDG PET/CT findings of immunoglobulin A κ multiple myeloma with innumerable hypermetabolic right lower extremity lesions of cutaneous and subcutaneous involvement of plasmablastic plasma cell myeloma in a 44-year-old man.

Background: Stereotactic radiosurgery is a favorable alternative to surgery for intracranial cerebral metastases. Fourth ventricle (V4) metastases are challenging because of the location and surrounding structures, with a high risk for obstructive hydrocephalus and brainstem compression. Here, the authors evaluate the effectiveness in terms of safety, tumor control rates, and permanent cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) diversion of primary Gamma Knife radiosurgery (GKRS) in treating V4 metastases.

Purpose: Cancer survivors are considered by public health officials as a high-risk group in the United States for severe complications from COVID-19. We aimed to characterize patterns of early uptake of the COVID-19 vaccine among cancer survivors and to determine modifiable barriers to vaccine completion that can be addressed to ensure future booster adherence.
Methods: Cross-sectional data of vaccine uptake by summer 2021 was extracted from adult cancer survivors enrolled in the "All of Us" research program.

Objectives: Patients with unilateral vocal fold paresis and unfavorable posterior cricoarytenoid (PCA) muscle synkinesis can be challenging to treat with medialization procedures alone. Arytenoid repositioning procedures are generally considered contraindicated in mobile vocal folds. We present two cases of persistent dysphonia following type I thyroplasty for vocal fold paresis that improved after botulinum toxin-A (BTX-A) injection into the PCA muscle.
